Ghosty 1944

The long dark reminds me so much of the book I have been reading "Far north by Will Hobbs" its a good read but plane crashing in the middle of the Canadian wilderness and trying to survive off the land in the middle of winter... Ring any bells?

-sigh- Its cringe to have friends that started playing recently and say yeah I fought Fluffy with my bare hands and they say  "who?"

So what do you think is going to happen in the day the world went dark ep 2? 😄

So im going to skip a few days logs I will write about anything cool that happens, but im mosty going to be getting bow stuff and maybe set up a small base at light house but I might write about the moving process.

Should I make a origin story? If I do I might go with a police background, I have not see that many police origins.

Day 49

I woke to a loud crash at what I assume was around six or seven in the morning. I grabbed my hunting knife and yelled “WHO IS THERE!” in a loud and deep voice.

I unzipping my bed roll and jumped to my feet looking around with what little light was coming through the window’s, moving to the main shop part of the gas station from what I could see it was safe... “So what was the sound” I said to my self while putting my hunting knife back in my pocket.

 I then walked back to my fire barrel and grabbed my hatchet and started making my way to the front door grabbing only a Nut’s and Stuff bar and a Summit soda on the way out. I opened the door slowly with a loud “CREEECK” peeking my head out. Hhmmm look’s clear to me. I said in my head while walking out the door and closing it behind me.

 I start to walk to the small wooded and hilly area behind the gas station. Keeping my eye out for the wolf that attacked me the other day. After several minutes of walking I could see a clearing with tree branches scattered all around. I pulled my hatchet out of my bag and got to work hacking and chopping away at wood.

I was done, with about enough wood to last me four day’s at most. loading the freshly chopped wood into my bag the wind started to pick up. So I start making my way back to base. and then I heard it...

 that sound I wish I would never hear again... “GRRAAAWL” I slowly turned around to come eye to eye with the same wolf that attacked me the other day. Then I did the only thing my brain was telling me to do at the time RUN! I turned and sprinted back in the way of the gas station all while looking through my bag “AHA!” I said while ripping out my road flare I found when I first moved into my base.

 I looked back, the wolf was gaining on me, I then opened the cap to the flare and sparked the flare and chucked it behind me hoping it would scare the wolf away, it didn’t, but it did buy me some time, at this point I can now see the back of the gas station. Running as fast as my leg’s can carry me.

 I looked back again only to see the wolf closer then before. next thing I knew I was opening my front door and slamming it shut and locking it only to hear a few seconds later scratching and howling at the other end of the door. I backed away from the door and heard the wolf run off.

After several minutes of hyperventilating and pulling myself back together. I walked to my fire barrel and set my log’s into the fire barrel along side a old news print I read about 20 times. I lite my match and tried to start the fire  and what to you know the fire started first try.

I started walking back to the shelf that I left my lantern on. I grabbed a tin of coffee, and walked back to the fire and with a old empty can of peaches I started to brew a hot cup of joe, as that was brewing I walked to my food self looked around a little bit and grabbed a can of bean’s walk back to the fire barrel and put that on to cook to.

 I passed the time until everything was ready. I pulled off my nice warm cup of coffee and took my first sip. I then looked at my cup and said “Foul me once shame on me, foul me twice shame on you" I said with a sigh. then I drank the rest of my coffee, then went to my can of bean’s and opened it with my lucky can opener, taking my first bite I said to myself “Man what I would do for some salt right about now.”

After a few minutes of chomping down on bean’s. I looked out my window to see it was already at least noon. Then I remembered that loud bang I heard earlier, I looked around again but this time I could see that a old tool tray had fallen of one of the cabinet’s in the garage. I went back and spent the rest of the day eating,drinking and finishing my hunting book... Honestly it was a good read, I learned how to skin a quarter a animal... sadly I have no weapon yet to kill any animal’s, but I have seen some deer body’s that wolfs killed. they still had a good amount of meat on them. So that book will definitely help me in the near future.

 It was that time of day again, the fire was starting to die and I was tired so I got nice and comfy in my bed roll and made a vow that I will get that darn wolf one day... I said in my head. then  “ One day...” I said out loud with a yawn. I closed my eye’s and drifted off to sleep.

Day 48

I just arrived back at base(Coastal highway gas station)after being attacked by a wolf after being locked in a car for several hours. Opening the door and shaking the snow off my parka ruff, I sparked my storm lantern and limped to the back of the shop to my fire barrel.

I set my lantern on a self near by. I looked in the corner of the room to see I only have three or four hours worth of wood, well it will have to do for now I said in my head while picking the wood up.

I walked back to the barrel and placed them in along with a old book on how to knit the perfect sweater. I looked my bag to see I only had three wood matches on me. I start lighting the fire failed half way through, the second time it worked.

I took off my ripped parka and set it next to the fire and walked to my medical cabinet and took some antibiotics for the wolf bite.

Then went to the fridge to grab a soda or two. Thinking back on it now, I have no idea why I spent so long thinking what sodas I should drink. After several minutes of picking sodas I settled on a stacy grape soda and a summit.

Walking back to my fire barrel, I started unloading from my last supply run.

When I got back to my fire, I started to sewing my parka back together I nailed it first try. Slipping my good as new parka on I realized I left my lantern on the whole time looking at my lantern on the shelf I could see It was off.

-sigh- oh well guess I need to find some more fuel in the morning I said to my self while rolling out my bed roll next to the fire. I drank my two sodas and spent my last hour of wood for the fire reading a old hunting book I found in a hunting stand a few days ago.

After the fire died I slipped into bed, after a few minutes of moving around to get comfortable, I started drift to sleep thinking in my head what that wolf was doing right now... most likely bragging to his wolf friends saying how he kicked the crap out of a human I said with a chuckle as I was closed my eyes to float off into sleep... Good night Canada.

I might start doing a day log.. My parents always did tell me to practice story writing...
