Assignable Hotkeys

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up before, but just in case!

For example, instead of the hard-coded 2 = Equip Weapon, let us assign the 2 hotkey to a specific weapon in our inventory.  If that weapon is dropped/destroyed, revert to the old method.

One drawback to this is that you would lose the ability to cycle through weapons by repeatedly pressing 2.  A possible workaround would be to let us map keys 5-0.

I don't see that this means we couldn't have cycling. You could set [2] to Vaughn's Rifle, say, so that always comes up first, then keep pressing to cycle through your weapons. That would be basically the same as what we have now, but we can customise which weapon the cycle starts with.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hotkey to DROP TINDER while walking would be great. I discovered I can mark good paths with them: where is not a weak ice, which way is to nearest shelter.... or sometimes, just funny texts when I wait for my meat to be cooked.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Later in the game, they are not much needed for their original purpose anyway.
