This game, by far, has consumed the most time I have ever played a single game.  I've been playing PC games for 36 years.  Ya know what still makes me take a pause and just appreciate?  The aurora nights and how they light up outside.  I'm currently standing on the porch of the Hunter's Lodge, looking at the aurora and the effect it's having on the man-made structures surrounding me.  But the most wondrous effect, the sky....thank you @Raphael van Lierop and Hinterland for bringing this to us.

Yes it also been my one of my favorite games for the last few years.

I first played The Long Dark back in May and within days, I fell in love. I don't know exactly how many hours I've put in, but it MUST be like 100 at this point. And yes, the aurora is amazing, as well as the colors of the sky sometimes.

Yup could be my favorite game I've played in my 35 years.  Single player experience for sure.  The feeling of the world and the loss when dying is different than any other game I've played.

I also love the creepy atmospheric sound the aurora puts off.
