grepdashv
After the update, I loaded up my saved game from yesterday and noticed that I now have a [1/3] scent profile where I was at [0/3] before. The only scent-inducing items that I'm carrying are two pieces of fresh gut, which resulted in [0/3] previously. Does some item now give scent that didn't before? Did the scent level for fresh gut increase? Is the indicator just different now?
grepdashv
Furthermore, if I drop one of the gut pieces (so only one is left in inventory), my scent profile is still [1/3].
Hotzn
Fresh guts gave off scent before the update. However, if I recall correctly, one or two guts were not sufficient to produce the frist "scent bar". Interesting to hear that has changed - either the "bar" has been set lower for the first bar to appear (excuse the pun), or the guts' scent production has been increased. I'll test that out a little over the weekend. Maybe other TLD scientists will contribute to researching this phenomenon...
MrWolf
I've had a scent bar with only two guts prior to the update. It might depend on the age/quality/cured value of the gut. Sometimes a scent bar appears, sometimes not.
Stone
In terms of wolf behaviour, I've watched a wolf take interest because I'm carrying any amount of gut or meat and loose interest when I drop it. So my experience matches the advice I see in this forum - any meat is scent, even if the bars don't show it.
TheEldritchGod
Any meat is scent. The more scent you have, the greater your radius. Fresh guts always give you at least one scent. It used to be 6 cooked meat = 1 scent. Now it is 3.
Spakerman
The 1-2 fresh guts not showing scent lines was a bug. You always had the scent of level 1 as soon as you picked up a single fresh gut, it just didn't show. Good to know about the cooked meat change, I hadn't noticed. peteloud
This is an interesting set of comments. I have paid almost no attention to my scent. I now realise that that was a big mistake and probably explained the many wolf attacks I suffer.
