Yep. Being prey doesn't necessarily mean that the animal is helpless apart from running away. Many of the most dangerous animals in the wild are prey: elephants, buffalo, rhinoceroses, hippos, etc.

Especially since these wolves hunt prey alone, itd be funny to lead a wolf to a moose with a stone, thinking he'll get you a meal only to see the moose kill the wolf and turn on you...
