  1. Yes, of course it is, exactly the same. My point, which has been raised before on here by others , is that twitter often gets notes, updates and pictures, which are then shared by people on this forum so we can all see them. I have never really used Twitter, but used to keep an eye out for a few people I followed, like Raph and Hinterland, but I don't use it anymore. But I am chagrined, and will ensure I access Twitter to get the latest info, rather than the official forum from now on.
  2. Thanks for the update, looking forward to the new region and updates! I can see various comments on lack of comms, and someone called it a scam as it's not being delivered on time. My only comment would be delivering something late is NOT a scam, it's just missing a deadline, unfortunate, yep, but so far off a scam as I can imagine. I'm not sure where or what some people read about the gaming market, kickstater projects etc, but TLD has over delivered by about 5000% compared to many of these shady companies. I always do say comms could be better, and Raph using X for his comments is a shame as it's now difficult to access without an account, and Musk is someone, who in good conscience, I cannot offer tacit support to as he has politicised his platform and promoted conspiracies. BTW, I realise this is a personal decision and is about my choices, but either way, it's a frustrating place to get infromation from now, and of course people have the right to say and do what they want, just as I have the right to choose not to support them, so let's ignore that debate before it starts!
  3. My whiteout best time has dropped from 1 day 7 hours to 2 days 14 … haven’t quite worked out the rifle drops now!
  4. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Michelle Paver's Dark Matter is a terrific ghost story set in a world very similar to The Long Dark.. well worth a read or listen.
  5. Sounds great! Congrats to you and the team, can’t wait!
  6. I have just posted on the main thread, but (to summarise) for me, reading a real post like Raph's rather than some PR garbage that many companies use these days was very very refreshing. A longer timeline for delivery, oh well, hardly the end of the world. Lastly, Hinterland should never be ashamed of charging for the expansion and continued development for TLD, it's a business, not a hobby and I'd rather a thriving, stable business able to support and grow TLD than it fade away..... people deserve to be paid for the great work they do.
  7. Thanks for the post @Admin, slower delivery fine with me and I hope you and the team find a decent balance to get work out as well as enjoy your lives! I am always somewhat confused as to some of the anger on here. It's a superb game, and it was a one off purchase for us all, not a rental agreement, yet we still got more and more updates Driving some revenue for your business is nothing to be ashamed of, I'd rather that than TLD fade away. Please keep making content and charging for it, if people don't want the expansions, that is their choice, but I have no problem for you charging for it at all. Sadly gaming with it's failed kickstarters and other scams, is seen as representative of everything, and also some people seem to fail to understand that nothing is free, every coding change, every texture, every animation, mocap, voice, music has to be paid for, to keep the talented creatives able to have normal lives, this isn't a hobby. This is wider internet problem, paying for the music we listen too has descended to streaming, paying for journalism seems an anathema.. but I digress! You delivered a great game, and have, year after year, added more depth and content, way beyond what I expected for my purchase price. So the Tales will be slower, oh well, thanks for trying to be super efficient, thanks for trying to maximise the value you are giving us. Most of all, thanks to you and the team for a great game, and thanks for being able to make the post you did and not filter it through the usual PR / non speak rubbish that companies use these days, saying sorry is increasingly a lost art. You don't have much to say sorry for, but the intent I think is really well received by most of the people on here.
  8. Ok.. it seems my controller decided to sort of break the same day I installed the patch…. I know, but the other controller … no problems!
  9. Ok.. after todays update (ps4) we lost the ability to access our inventory, now upon starting the game where it says ‘press any button to continue’ we can get no further, no button presses work. The game is effectively completely broken. it was fine before todays update
  10. Ok - not to be a downer… but whilst I’ve downloaded the add on… the actual game itself is unchanged, no new content and old save games valid, I suspect the actual update to the game itself, rather than the add on is not yet out 😞 maybe @Admincan confirm this, but I’ve had no actual update to the main game after downloading the add on
  11. Thank you 🙂 Much swearing was involved!
  12. @Zaknafein runs are amazing, I always think we are not brutal enough, at the end of our runs Astrid is still 100% health, we have tried doing the butal speedrun, but we've spent so many hours looking after the characters, we just can't let her stagger around freezing, starving and tired! What always lets us down is the hardwood, everything else we really do reptty well at!
  13. I suspect we will end up doing the Whiteout again til it releases.. nearly reached sub 24hr…
  14. Turned on ps4 for first time in couple of weeks, TLD updated… now says Trial Version in the corner? Seems to run ok, not sure what it means? David
  15. I know I have triggered the achievement already, but I do agree, an up to date cartographer would be great to do, such a fun challenge.
  16. I tend to take the same approach one would take with people you don't know so well and not swear at all, amongst friends, things get rather sweary, but as I have no idea of thr audience here (both age and sensibility) I wouldn't swear.
  17. Thanks for the update, it is a shame it had a rocky release by the sound sof it (I'm on console so watching from a distance so to speak) but I have been suprised by some of the anger and frustration I've seen on the forums, it's a game, if it's broken for a day or so, play something else,. Of course you shouldn't have released with errors, it looks a bit naff, but compared to the outrageous loot boxing and money grubbing that passes for gaming in 2022, I still find TLD the best value of any game I own and I genuinely don;t understand the frustration on the Season pass, some new regions, some new mechanics and flora / fauna, released as you do them over the next 12 months. Any goodwill you might lose should be after the 12 months if you have failed to deliver, not at the beginning IMHO. That said, if we are waiting in 3 years fior the rest of the Far Territory, as we still wait for Ep. 5, then your goodwill would rightly slip... But anyway, can't wait for the console release, a loot refresh and some new regions to explore!
  18. As a console user, I haven't tried the update here, but I think communication is an issue, but we as customers also have to honest about reading what we want into announcements due to our own demands and interests. I would have loved the Cougar to suddenly appear in the first update, but I do understand that they have a 12 month process and things will appear as part of these incremental add ons, and I do understand I am buying a season pass, and by definition you don't get 12 months on day 1. That said, with all the hype about the features, it could and should have been clearer to people, who are not as obsessive as many of us are on here, people were not getting Forsaken Airfield AND every gameplay update. Ultimately, for me, I want to see The Long Dark prosper and grow, my original purchase has been worth it in the hundreds of hours of play over the years (albeit without Wintermute ep 5 dammit!, that is poor) and I can see from Hinterland's point of view the season pass seems a great way to get an injection of money to a very mature game and fund new content. What I would say, in a world of early access vaporware, where millions of pounds seem to appear on the example of one video and some screen shots which finally develop into a shonky alpha release, Hinterland do see like a real company trying their best to balance our expectations with their necessity of running a viable business. Release day had some technical issues, but they seem to be trying to fix it, and at the end of this, if we have a better platform for them to build on, and we can keep on seeing incremental changes and add ons, regions and mechanics, then I am very happy. Much rather that than a game that is left to wither. So in short, they can take my extra £20 a year and keep on churning out content, it's still a bargain.
  19. I am presuming the console release is still Feb 2023 as we haven;t heard otherwise, had someone said the console was being released earlier? I must have missed it!
  20. Fabulous video, and I didn't realise Katie was English! Hello from the cold and damp Lincolnshire fens... More strangely I then realised we have a friend in common, Jason Wilson! It is a small world. The expansion looks fantastic, can't wait to try it out when it hits the PS4.
  21. Well, that is all wonderful news, the new regions sound great, some new challenges is always welcome and things like Travios and Safehouse Customisation are great. So congrats to the Hinterland team, I am very excited and will buy it the second it arrives on PS4, and have to bite my lip whislt I watch the PC guys enjoy it over Xmas! I would say, as others have mentioned, that I am disappointed not to see a quicker resolution to Wintermute, those of us that do enjoy it have been waiting a loooooong time, but that said, I love the survival and the challenges and have never felt short changed, just slightly frustrated! So please pass on congratulations to the team, and I wish you every success with this release.
