  2. Day One: Oh my God .. OH MY GOD ! This place is cold .. real cold .. oh my god. Where am i ? I don't remember anything. gotta go to the nearest shelter. Sky is dark So dark i can't even see two foot in front of me .. I hear wolf howling. Half a hour later : I am still looking .. Can't even light a fire due to lack of tinder .. OH What was that sound? A wolf ! It is after me ! Gotta run ! I don't have any weapon to fight with it .. damn .. OH MY GOD IT'S GETTING CLOSER .. I see a shadow of a shelter just up ahead .. I was lucky this time ... there is no guarantee that my luck will last another day .. But for now i am to tired to write .. Tomorrow I should try and contact someone ..
  3. Hi guys. Hope you're doing fine with pandemic around. stay safe you all. I am a relatively old long dark player. Been playing this game for a couple of years. I Always wanted to write my fiction but due to my bad English I always feared that it didn't works out. But seeing how friendly people are in this forum i decided to give it a shot. πŸ˜ƒ but still, I am not good at English since it is not my mother tongue . So if you see any typo or any grammatical problem in this topic, sorry in advance πŸ™‚ So, The journey is like most journey that had been in forum before. I started a custom mode in Milton. My survivor is male. So, This is the code I've been using. I talked with some of the guys in forum and create a discussion which people where helpful. And I gotta thanks @Mroz4k for helping me choose a difficulty that i think is right. And, speaking of custom mode difficulty, mine is described below. base resources are normal. Environment setting is set to medium except blizzard that is set to high. Animal population is normal (except rabbit and fish which are high.) Rifle is not available but revolver is. Birch bark tea is not recovering condition and cabin fever is also off. In gear section, Item decay rate is set to low but all other options are normal. And for the last part, Struggle is set to be kinda deadly with Condition damage being medium but clothing and damage severity set to high. And the reason i come up with this difficulty is because i wanted to balance things out. (e.g. If it was more towards pilgrim and voyager the journey soon would be " boring. And if it was more toward loper, since i am not a very good player, the survivor would soon be dead before story started πŸ˜„) Last thing, I don't think i update this journey to often, maybe once a week. And feel free to post your ideas about topic.

  7. @ManicManiac Well, I guess you are right And thanks for answering πŸ™‚ But ... deep down I kinda wish i could narrow our options down. Like for example I think Item decay should be set to low for me. since Canned food lasts up to two or three years. Or sticks and stones availability should be set to medium or high.
  8. I exactly plan to do this but I don't know how should every option on custom be in order to be as close as possible to real life. For example I know wolf do not typically attack people so " wolf fear" should be like medium. But How about the other option? Freezing, weather, thirst etc.
  9. Hi guys. Hope your doing fine πŸ˜„ So, I wanted to play a new custom difficulty story and write in game journal. I am an amateur, Mostly write in my native language and all. And In My writing I Usually Stick to "Realism". So, as you can tell, I wanted to " Write - Play " my story in long dark. I myself, Don't want something like pilgrim difficulty where there is almost no challenge like struggling and starving that eventually will cause my story to be boring and on the other hand, I think Interloper is too much of challenge and it will effect my story in bad way (e.g. almost always starving, struggles are deadly, weather is always bad and .etc ) So, Can you guys please give me a custom difficulty code, or at least give me some ideas e.g. How wolf struggle in real life, scent mechanism, weather, starvation, item decay, resources availability, freezing and things like that works in real life so I can kinda tune my story which leads to a realistic game for me? Thanks in advance And sorry for bad English !

  11. I mean ... I agree with you but this is Stalker ! It supposed to be like that I guess ... You can play pilgrim if you want, no wolf will attack you on that difficulty. πŸ™‚
  12. So, How about instead of " all the houses door in TLD are open " we could have some random house with locked door. ( Like the ones in story mood.) And instead of trying to find a key, A new item would be added. Lockpick : Works like prybar but it is more common ( Like two or three per region. ) And it is skill based (e.g. level 1 : you have no special skill. Chances of opening lock : 40% . level 5: you are the master of lockpicking Chance of success 100% ) And If you failed, you'll break your lockpick So, What do you guys think? ☺️

Hi @LumiStylesTTV and thinks for reply πŸ˜ƒ First things first, Early humans Had traveled and migrated for hundreds of years, So I think it is possible that you would move with sheep and cattle 😊 Second, you are right. it is winter and it will probably stay this way. But maybe in future when the seasons will be added in game it wouldn't be to find some foods for livestock. And again, I didn't mean we need livestock in game in near future. I myself though this would be a great idea for a long term survival.
  14. Hi everybody πŸ˜ƒ Before anything, I wanted to say I don't want to see livestock in game like right now ! But, I wanted to create a topic about it so, I can now more about livestock breeds (cattle, Sheep and etc. )that could withstands the harsh environment of the long dark πŸ˜„ So, if anyone knows about the cattle breed that would withstand the environment, please share it ☺️ I myself think the Galloway bread would be a good pick for cattle. It will withstand environment. I don't know about sheep breed though. And some questions ! What region do you think would be good for it in the future ? How do you think it should be added ? How the mechanism for interaction with it should be? Should their be able to breed ? Should we have their milk? Or have them for their meat? πŸ˜‹ Do you think it is necessary ? So, again I am talking about future. I myself don't think we have a chance to see them in near future but i like the idea of having them in the game. 😊And it would be awesome if we could pat our baby cattle 😍😊

Thanks for replies @oplli πŸ˜„ a little misunderstanding happened here . πŸ˜ƒ I mean, right now if you have low condition prybar and you attempt to open a locked locker, there is a chance that you will ruin both prybar and the lock.   17. Hi everybody ! First of all I am back πŸ˜„ It's always good to be back And I kinda miss being in forum actually. πŸ˜„ So, Hope you guys doing great despite pandemic. Stay safe ☺️ And sorry for bad English by the way 😟 As for topic, I somehow think Items condition can play a major part in gameplay. I'll give you an example. So, What if Storm lantern condition was related to its fuel consumption! Just think about it. I think it would be great if storm lantern with for example 20% condition used more fuel and would extinguish rapidly unlike a 80% condition one. It would force player to keep it in the best shape possible by repairing it frequently . And, it was just one item. Just image How great could it be if it was applied on all the items in the game ! e.g. There would be a chance that medicine with very low condition e.g. 20% and below won't be effective ! There would be a chance that pieces of clothe you harvest from curtains and pillow and etc. won't be at 100% condition thus it will effect how much that you could repair your clothes. There would be a chance that you find " half burnt" woods ! e.g. you found a 40% cedar wood near a campfire ! it would keep your fire going by 40% * 1hour = 24 minutes ! And many more Examples ! So, What do you say? πŸ˜„
  18. Hi guys. It's nice to be back ! 😊 So, I was playing recently and thinking why does things like herbal tea package or tin of coffee are always in a package of 5? Every time you found herbal tea package in game, there are 5 tea bag in it. Why not having a package in game with 3 or 2 ? or even bigger package that can hold 10 tea bag in it? Same goes for coffee tin and even ammo boxes. Rifle ammo box always has 5 round in it. And revolver always has 10. I think it will be interesting founding a ammo box that only has 1 bullet ! or herbal tea package with only 2 tea bag ! So, What do you think?
