I simply love modding my game, especially as it relates to decorating my home base. I've been patiently waiting for years for enhancements by the dev team and I too am eagerly awaiting the base customization updates. That being said, I'm going to keep my expectations low as I have my reservations about how comprehensive these improvements really will be. I suspect we'll finally be able to hang hides on the walls, maybe even be able to fix a torch in a wall sconce for lighting but I hope and pray that the improvements are really surprising. I dunno...

Thanks for the posts @dudebuster There does seem to be a lot of sitting dead in PV for some reason! I hope you made good use of the loot they left behind. At least the gunsmithing book was something of interest and value. Keep em coming and don't be afraid to speculate on the nature of their demise, that's what makes finding them and telling their story a little more entertaining.

Once while playing, I was climbing the stairs of the hunting lodge in Broken Railroad during an aurora. The windows were glowing with an eerie green glow and as I reached the top of the stairs, I see the rocker chair silhouetted in the window and the damn things rocking! Suddenly both my dogs jump up from the dog bed they were both snoozing on and started barking and snarling with their hackles raised intently staring at the screen. Scared me so much I had to turn on all the lights in the house just to make sure nothing had gotten in. Creeps me out every time I go there now...

lol, I really do hope you know that I was merely commenting in context of playing the game... ...although I do love me a good steak!

I'm looking forward to scurvy, especially considering I've been living on an almost exclusively all meat diet for the past 8 years! That being said, I'm curious as to what "element" they might be introducing to combat scurvy. Maybe it'll be a combo remedy like mixing birch bark and rosehip teas to create a vitamin c rich tea. At the very least, the ole pine needle tea potion or something like that. And let's not forget about the looting aspect of searching for and finding vitamin c pills in medicine cabinets and first aid kits. I sure hope it's a multiple approach so as to be more immersive.

I'm inclined to agree with your assessment and I think that maybe gear decay needs to be tweaked so that not everything is rotted and ruined by the time I finally get to find it. As to scurvy, kinda looking forward to that as I recall there has been much discussion about the effects of an all-meat diet over the years on these forums. I seem to recall a few threads that thoroughly hashed out all the possible remedies that a survivor could find on the island to combat scurvy so I'm definitely curious as to what resources Hinterland will actually use.

It is so exciting to see some of things that have been on my Wishlist for years finally coming to life! So looking forward to getting scurvy after having lived on an all-meat diet for the last eight years!

I dunno now, it said all the mugs were sold, but I ended up clicking on a Jack Rabbit Transport mug and it let me buy one? ok, looking forward to seeing if it actually shows up now.

so disappointed. after refreshing my email dozens of times waiting for the email, when I finally get a chance to log into the store, not a single mug left to purchase. I felt like I just found a long lost memento box and all it contained was a tinder plug...

Found this hiker having his last picnic in Pleasent Valley. I wonder how he came to end up here with a backpack full of uneaten food. I recovered an MRE and can of Summit Soda, both items in near pristine condition. I dined on his dinner and left him to his fate. Really baffles me as to why this fellow died here. Having successfully transited from PV to ML via the Winding River, I stumble upon this unfortunate soul just sitting in this darkened hallway. I searched his corpse finding nothing of value. Nor could I tell if foul play was involved either. Makes me wonder if he just plopped down here out of sheer exhaustion. Was he being pursued by something or someone? And this is a far as he made it? I dunno, it's just another mystery...

I hope this is the way out...

I'm really excited to see what enhancements the upcoming base customization dlc is gonna bring us. In the meantime, I'd love to see some taxidermy added to my list of crafting options using the workbench. It doesn't seem like it would take to much to be able to craft these items on your homebase workbench as Hinterland already has these assets available in the game. The community hall already has these three trophy mounts in the game. This stag would be awesome to craft. You'd need a big wall to put this on! I'd hang these outside for sure! I'd be happy just to have these made available, although I would also like to see some wolf heads and the bear. I could see the hunting lodge being outfitted with a bear. Seems logical and lore friendly that the old rich landowner would have had a bear trophy mounted in his hunting lodge. Please make this possible Hinterland, please!
