First time trying to hunt a moose and i can't seem to find one around Pensive Pond in PV like the wikia says. I'm on day 3 in the area trying wait for it. Do there have to be tree marks in an area for a moose to eventually show up, because there aren't any near the pond. Any suggestions on where else i should look in PV?

Inspired by The Beacon of Amon Din by@TheEldritchGod. I have had the idea to make a giant flaming sos in DP and then to quickly run up to the top of the lighthouse to take a picture.

My current home in HRV. The day after i found the beacon fire for the first, decided to camp inside the closest cave entrance to further explore the top right corner of the map.

I see what you did there, it's "fan art" because he turned the ceiling fan into art... i'll see myself out.

Exploring new maps

In Wintermute that's how i had stumbled upon the church the first time.

Because of it's central location, abundant supplies, and my familiarity with it, i usually start in ML to prepare before i take on new nature heavy maps. Though i did make the mistake of starting in Milton instead for my first HRV run, i sadly just died after only 5 days.

The first two are from my second time at the summit of Timber Mountain. I went to a southern facing ledge to get pictures but ended getting stuck and not being able to get back up. I tried to climbed down in the morning but ended up falling to my death. In the maintenance yard at Broken Railroad, first time experiencing the aurora. This is the oldest at April 2017. In between Misanthrope's Homestead and Jackrabbit Island at Coastal Highway, facing out towards the weak ice.

Exploring the new/unfamiliar areas.

Isn't one of the core concepts of this game to explore and take risks? How is exploring the game options for a few in game days any different than having a string of bad starts/runs or exploring new areas?

If you are low on food, starve your self a little. Hunger only takes 1% per hour. Eat before you go to sleep. You can find feathers for arrows near corpses and carcasses, look/listen for the circling crows. Be careful though, if you take from the body the feathers will not re-spawn. Crows flying across the sky signals a change in weather.

Iv'e died while harvesting a few times. It's not hard to forget about it sometimes.

I'm sure i could have figured a way down, ive embraced my inner mountain goat a few times. But since i hadn't grabbed any of the supplies, i didn't have the patience to make it to PV or back up the mountain afterwards.

This happened two games ago. My first game in months i decided spawn in TWM and go straight to the top. I had done this plenty of times, so i remember the route without a map. Found a hacksaw in the cabin and opened up a food and a fire cargo container, so i was able to take my time and not rush the climb. I make it to the top and before looting the containers i decided to take some pictures since my stats were good enough and i wasn't in any real rush. I go to where the signal flare gun is (i grab it) and i spot a ledge under the plane that would be good to take pictures from. After getting day and night pictures i find out it's impossible to back up from the ledge. So i tried parachuting off of the summit.
