Oh I didn't know this actually, is that only marine flares or regular ones too?

If it's only marines it's good as balancing act I think, as otherwise I find them really useless against regular flares. TWs are just about as cautious of regular flares (and torches) as marine flares, stupidly I might add. But now they have some theoretical unique purpose

Just the marine flares.  The regular ones get extinguished.
