I dont know if Hinterland wants to have this but if indefinitely ignition ressource is wanted here is how it can be done:
Go fishing, this gives you oil
Go to a car and put oil into car
Turn on the car and recharge the battery
Take the battery out of the car and now u can make fire with the battery. indefinitely.

Electricity doesn't work in TLD, not unless there is an aurora. However easy fires during an aurora might be cool.

There is a magnifying glass which can last forever. Eventually though you will run out of cloth and scrap metal or coal. If we could make bone tools that suck compared to metal ones then we could live forever.

Coal from extinguished fires is different from coal found in caves, I think. It's used for writing, it doesn't burn. Or there's something I'm missing?

Even lighting torches using the electrical sparks from broken wires during aurora nights could be an alternative, but way too limited.
