  1. I’m just now passing through broken railroad, I decided to search the region for extra rifle cartridges, I’m not going to be able to get to forsaken airfield until I get back from school though.
  2. I thought the game had paused when I went over to the Xbox captures to delete old screenshots, then I had to eat dinner, I then came back to the game not being paused and me being attacked by a wolf for at least the 5th time. I got it off me and then bandaged quickly. Again, I’m lucky to be alive.
  3. It’s quite the shame that scurvy is disabled on old saves, I wanted to have to deal with it, but I kind of understand why they went without it.
  4. I’m currently walking in ravine, I have a long way to go, I started in coastal highway when I nearly died, and took a break to heal and repair clothes.
  5. Holy cow, I’ve been eating dinner and deleting screenshots for the last -45 minutes, and I came back to find that I’ve nearly died because the game didn’t pause for some reason. I’m very lucky to be alive as I came back to 4 bleeds. (I patched them up so I wouldn’t die) I would have been furious if I died while I was off. Good thing I was wearing the bulletproof vest.
  6. I have to delete old screenshots real quick, my Xbox is out of space for clips and pics that I’p post here.
  7. I LOVE the new animations already, when I heard harvesting, I thought that also included saplings and cattails and stuff like that, maybe in a future update? The first thing I did was kill a rabbit, and holy cow, those were awesome and brutal animations! The animations add a new level of realism I was not expecting. This update makes the wait well worth it.
  8. A bit after seeing part 4 I decided that I wanted to go through the tales back-to-back, I’ve avoided spoilers for tales of the far territory entirely so I can do this, now that part 4 is out, I’m going to go straight to Forsaken Airfield for the first time in any of my runs to start the first tales, once I get there, I’ll start posting here.
  9. Yeeeeeesssssss! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever! I’m going to immediately resume my realistic run, I was waiting since September for this! It looks so awesome! Thank you!
  10. Very impressive, but if grey mother was around, she probably wouldn’t want you to waste any of it, so you might need to eat 5000 kcals a day of oatmeal to prevent that.
  11. Another version you could theoretically do in just your first day or two is to cut .1-.2 kgs of meat off a bear, or moose and cook the hundreds of tiny meat nuggets, I don’t speedrun cooking, but theoretically if you got a gun and a knife on day 1, killed a bear, skinned it into tiny pieces which each take about 2 minutes to cook. Then cook all the meat, you might be able to pull it off sooner.
  12. Good to know, now the bugs in my run are finally fixed (probably), looking forward to tales part 4!
  13. Yes that’s what I was thinking, it would just be better to have metal tools, but they would be good early game, and when you run out of sharpening stones. A side note, the knives should be decently durable, flint is really sharp irl, but it’s also brittle, so if it’s used for cutting actions it should be decently durable, loosing about ~3-4% condition, they should lose more durability when chopping wood or stabbing an annoying wolf as flint can chip and shatter if there is too much force applied.
  14. I usually improvise my own cover and shoot it a bunch, so for me, option 2, sometimes the cover isn’t good enough though…
  15. That would be terrifying, but also realistic, practice gun safety kids!

    Flint

So, I have a pretty decent idea for something that could be added into the game, Flint. You would be able to find flint pretty rarely in caves and near cliffs that occasionally drop stones, it could be like a 2.5% chance that instead of dropping a stone, it drops a shard of flint. Flint would be able to be used for many things, 1 flint and 1 scrap metal and you could make a flint and steel, which is a renewable, decent fire starter that would be about as good as a fire striker. You could also make flint arrowheads, which you would be able to craft the same way as other arrows, but without needing to forge them, flint arrows would be a bit weaker durability and damage wise. And maybe even be able to make flint knives and hatchets, which would be unrepairable, but since flint is renewable, you would be able to make them indefinitely. They also would be slightly worse, damage wise, durability wise, and harvesting time wise than the improvised metal variants. Potential crafting recipes: Flint and Steel: 1 scrap metal, 1 flint Flint Arrowheads x3: 1 stone, 1 flint Flint Arrow: 1 cured birch sapling, 3 feathers, 1 flint arrowhead (requires workbench) Flint Knife Blade: 1 stone, 1 flint Flint Knife: 1 stick, 1 cured gut, 1 flint knife blade (requires workbench) Flint Hatchet Head: 1 stone, 2 flint Flint Hatchet: 1 fir firewood, 2 cured guts, 1 flint hatchet head (requires workbench) All the recipes are renewable, they would be good for the early game, and for when you inevitably run out of sharpening stones for the metal tools. Flint shards Flint and Steel A Flint Arrowhead Flint Knife Flint Hatchet
  17. Yes It does seem to be fixed, that is very good, Now I can keep track of my locations surveyed.
  18. I'll check when I get home, school has made things weird again.
  19. I already had one since pt 1 of the tales update, so I don't know about this spawning bug. all i know is that I found mine outside the gold mine by a corpse in ash canyon, have you reported the bug to Hinterland yet?
  20. Make sure to cut some of its guts out just to be sure.
  21. I’m playing TLD right now, it’s still bugged. I’m making my way to costal highway, the rifle variant there is my main goal, but also cooking ingredients. Here is stuff that happened since my last post. It took me 2 trips up and down the PV-TM rope to get everything up. I also spent a couple of days repairing my moose hide cloak because it got to 5% condition and making a satchel to further increase my carry capacity.
  22. I mostly wanted to see the animation and get the pic of me holding it. I will look into getting some fire hardened arrows when I get back to Timberwolf mountain.
  23. I was finally able to catch my first ptarmigan, poor thing. I wanted to make this post immediately because I ran into another bug, not the worst, but it makes things a lot harder to tell what I’ve already mapped. It won’t let me see the collectibles, and if I try to go to the side to choose an area, it kicks me back as shown in this clip. IMG_0276.MOV it seems to have merged the 2 pages and quitting the game and coming back In didn’t fix the issue. I hope this gets patched.
  24. Mostly been trying to fill out the map, made it to mystery lake, so far I’ve gotten most of the map. Here’s some things that happened along the way. I found this little guy chilling in a cave. a long while later, I was filling out the map, I was worried that the world was glitched or maybe since the game was a custom save, but for whatever reason, I couldn’t find any ptarmigans anywhere. Finally I found a flock when marking the destroyed lookout on the map. This was relieving because I thought they couldn’t spawn. also, while coming back down from the intact lookout, there was a crashed plane on some rocks that I’d never seen before, have I been blind or did this get added recently?
