  1. ...that gets freaked out by tree stumps thinking it was a wolf (especially in low light conditions)? The sound in this game is so immersive! When I hear a wolf howl to my side, if I pan quickly to check, I only see a tree stump but not before my heart skips a beat. You know you are playing a great game when the game can invoke these sort of reactions. Well done Hinterland!!
  2. Now, why didn't I think of that? Great tip. Once you get mending up to 3 (where I am at now after 110 days on Voyageur) or 4, the condition restored is higher. Find something like a hat or socks, I could see myself using only one cloth to repair it and then harvest it for that same cloth. The only real expense would be a condition hit on the sewing kit and believe me, I got a lot of those
  3. I didn't realize that food in containers could disappear. Good to know. Thanks!
  4. Your progress during a challenge will contribute to all your feats. But once a feat is achieved, it can only be applied to a new survival mode games.
  5. On my way up to Timberwolf Mountain, I usually prepare coffee in that shack near the rope climb. Now all I need to do is slug back some Go! How many calories does it provide?
  6. I'm usually always well fed and above 100% condition but is the +5 weight bonus negated when you're below 100%?
  7. Thanks mate, that sounds encouraging. That'll give me something to do while I sit on 36 kg of bear meat
  8. Lol, about the same as you, Forlorn, Broken and Hushed. I'm currently stationed in the gas station in Coastal, it will check out the dam or maybe the trapper's cabin while I'm at it. I'm still without a hammer so once I find out, I'll head back to DP and check out those locations as well. Thank you for responding. Good to know there appears to be plenty of ammo. Cheers!
  9. I agree. My stats indicated I only missed 2 out of 39 shots with the rife. I had a clear headshot on a bear from close range, I took it then ducked into a house upon which I checked my stats. I was now 38 out of 40 so I figured I managed a hit, hopefully in head so it would bleed out in 60 minutes. I waited a bit before venturing out to follow him and when I reached the spot where he was when I shot him, I saw no blood stain or blood trail. And sure enough, even after 4 hours, my stats still indicated that he was still alive (had 4 bear kills previously and it was still 4). Not sure how it could count as a hit in the stats. Puzzling.
  10. I'm about 110 days into a game trying to achieve master level on all survival skills (for the steam achievement) and I'm currently master on all of them but 2 (mending and archery). Now I'm suddenly at level one with the revolver with all but 3 zones cleared/explored, what are my chances of achieving master with the revolver. Do I need to retrace every zone to get enough ammo for the revolver to achieve master level? I believe this update should only apply to new playthroughs because honestly, I feel like I just wasted 110 days for nothing :(
