  1. I like to think of Fluffy as a male with a wussy name...it's psychological...
  2. I'VE GOT A FEVER, AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION IS MORE COW BELL!!!
  3. You can only get parasites from predator meat on Stalker and Interloper. The treatment takes 10 days on Stalker and 20 days on Interloper. Voyager and obviously Pilgrim are safe. I typically play Voyager....
  4. My girlfriend is horrified by the rabbits. I'm like, "Hun it's a survival game, it's him or me...." It's true, the bunny is food. Sometimes I miss a lot and I expend calories chasing rabbits around and throwing rocks at them. When I finally catch one...or three...I'm not going to just let them go. They will get in me belly!
  5. Sorry, I don't have a one week video clip to post....
  6. This (luckily) has not happened to me (yet) on PC. I wonder if it is because I use a gamepad. Specifically a PS4 controller through Steam Big Picture mode. I highly recommend it...
  7. Groovy, I thought so...but I like steering people straight....he made me question myself, lol.... I was like, "Was I wrong? Did I just have lantern oil on me? I thought I got it from harvesting the lantern....?! Hrrmmm?" So thanks for the confirmation...!
  8. Seen it, that's a GrayStillPlays video...I watch all his The Long Dark stuff....I keep asking him to make more videos in the comments of his non-The Long Dark videos, lol. Of course the torch throwing works for Gray, him and Geltaz are like Jedi Grand Masters of the game. Everything they do is win! Us lowly novice players get eaten by Fluffy when we throw fire at him. Actually my current playthrough I went down to fight Fluffy naked and with a knife. He came at me when I was standing in the hallway exit to the lower dam generator room where he wanders around. Somehow that glitched Fluffy out because we turned sideways making it so Fluffy was like inside the wall. So the fight ended in half a second. I took no damage at all, and Fluffy died of blood loss incredibly fast. So I cooked him and ate him....
  9. Basically upon carcass despawning, whether you quarter it or not, any arrows you failed to retrieve due to them being completely under the carcass and not targetable should appear on the snow where the carcass was. This does not seem to be the case currently. If you are unable to target the arrow before the carcass disappears, the arrow(s) disappear as well. That is frustrating and hopefully will be addressed.
  10. It's the karma police...they get you every time...
  11. Conan, what is best in life? "Quickscoping the charging wolf. Feasting upon its flesh. Hearing the lamentations of the rabbit after striking it with a rock and snapping it's neck." Rofl....that is what came to mind as I read your final statements....
  12. Fortunately I don't typically have that problem. However if I quit playing for like a year or something, I probably would have no clue what I was up to unless I wrote some notes. After a year though, with all the changes and updates there typically are, I would most likely be better off starting a new run....
  13. Unfortunately you are right there is currently no way to just save while quitting. That being said, I guess you do save when "passing time." So even if there is no shelter close by to enter or a bed, you could try to pass an hour of time in a safe place like a car or cave and then quit. As far as remembering exactly where you are and what you wanted to do next, there is a way to record notes in the journal in the game. When you are looking in the journal at the list of daily summaries there is a note tab on the right side of the journal. You can click that and type in some quick notes about where you are, and what you wanted to do next....or anything else important.....like "You shot a wolf outside, it died next to the silo...don't forget to go harvest it."
  14. I just recently learned it was safe to just throw meat on the ground as long as you are not being actively pursued by a predator. Before I was leaving it in the closest cold storage....typically a nearby fishing shack. Then I would run out everyday and grab a couple pieces for dinner. I didn't understand people's concerns over meat spoilage. I'm guessing they must not know about keeping cooked meat outdoors. I mean even a whole bear with like 36 kilos of meat, will still be safe to eat if you keep it outside somewhere. Even if you do the starvation eating method, where you only eat a big meal at night before bed to regain condition....you would eat at least 1 kilo a day. You would eat a majority of the bear before the condition drops below 75, if not all of it. Meat spoilage only becomes an issue if you kill two bears at once, lol. Once you get cooking to level 5, then you don't have to worry about low condition meat and food poisoning from things you cook. Another good section to read in the wiki is the afflictions section where they describe all the different afflictions. If you scroll down to the food poisoning section they detail the rules of what foods are safe to eat at what conditions. It's a good clarification, because there seems to be a lot of confusion over what foods are safe at what conditions.
  15. Google "The Long Dark decay." In the wiki they have the decay rates of everything. http://thelongdark.wikia.com/wiki/Decay I feel some of the numbers are a little off. I don't think cooked meat decays at quite the rate it says it does indoors, but it does decay faster indoors than outdoors. The outdoor rates are about right....it seems to lose about one condition a day or maybe every other day or so....depending on the type of meat.
  16. Are you sure? I'm pretty sure you get kerosene when you harvest a lamp....it's not in a jerry can. It's in a blue and black lantern oil canister like you get from cooking fish....
  17. I thought that's how it works too....I just haven't seen it work much...
  18. It does...I like what has been implemented so far, but it feels very unfinished and like a half measure. Need to be able to craft more things in general. Should be able to craft a clothing item for every slot, and there should be more versatility of any type of animal hide being used for any clothing slot. Also, they really need to revisit the weights of crafted clothes after making cured items weigh less than uncured items. Currently the crafted items weigh far too much...
  19. ROFL, I didn't even know you were on the forums man! Hi @GELtaz! Yeah, when I read it I was like this is ridiculous, only Geltaz could do it justice....
  20. I think you took too many "pain killers." No, seriously that was funny....I'm not sure I would ever do what you suggested, but it was funny. I would almost enjoy watching someone "perform" that playthrough....like Geltaz, but I don't know that I would do it justice. I don't have the charisma or acting ability to play the madman of the mountains.... I think you should shoot a video of that playthrough and let us watch it, lol....
  21. Well allegedly there is another experience mode on it's way....Hopefully it will be like Interloper Lite....
  22. To be honest, I haven't had much success with it myself, and I have seen others failing with it in videos too. Brandishing seemed to work far better. I prefer the bait method with or without shooting the wolf. Obviously I'd prefer not wasting the bait and shooting the wolf, but with no bow or gun, bait has a better chance of geting rid of the wolf without a fight. Better than a torch or flare currently does.....
  23. Oh man...well I believe it is on the road map amongst ideas that already have been implemented in the game.... I believe I read an official response in a thread somewhere weeks ago, but I cannot remember exactly where or who said it. I have a pretty good memory though, so I don't think I am making this up. I guess unless you find it via search method, you will have to take it on faith, lol.
  24. Wow, lol....so you found a loophole... So due to the bonus fire duration, you may be able to acrue slightly more sticks than added i.e. a net stick gain?! That would be interesting....
