  1. There's a good idea. Have it so the more junk books you read, the faster you can read skill books.
  2. There seems to be thousands of junk books in the game, and thousands of junk hours you spend "passing time." Why not make it so you can read common books before burning. Maybe have a feat that if you read so many junk books, learning from manuals and/or guide type books has more impact. Mark the book "read" if you're previously finished it so you can't just use one book and reread it over and over again. Could even have a dozen or so rare books spread around the world folks can collect and keepsakes, or another thing to track, how many rare books found. Edited to add: Possibly, to be able to use the "Pass Time" function, you must have a book or find that deck of cards you can hear shuffling now.
  3. How about use as the name implies, canning meats? I've canned both raw and cooked venison in glass jars personally, so the meat lasts longer. Why not canning meat so it lasts longer indoors in the game? Kinda makes sense to me.
  4. Zippo's and regular cigarette lighters are not infinite use items...their flint runs out. When I was a pack a day smoker, would take a couple months on a Zippo, much more on a lighter because they have extremely long flints, often a half inch or more on Bics, though the fluid goes out well in advance. As someone who uses flint and steel a few times a year, and keeps empty lighters to harvest the flint out of them for my Zippo or my tackle box, yeah, flint is kind of a bigger luxury item than some folks realize.
  5. Snaring is great combined with rock tossing and/or archery early on in my opinion. Quick way to raise carcass harvesting, archery, and cooking. Heck I've even grinded a level or two of revolver skill on them. Edited to add: On rabbits I mean.
  6. Heh, I envision being able to make marks on a wall with charcoal, or notches on a bed post with a knife. I prefer the coal idea, because then the coal could lose 10% durability per use. Then it'd be something required the player to actively do. This way, you keep track of days passing as you want. I don't care about total days often, but keeping track of how long I've been in one location or another, or how long it's been since I killed off a certain bear or wolf spawn, yeah, it'd be nice to make some marks on a wall to help keep track. (I personally use the tactic of placing down cat tail heads in the snow to keep track of 3-5 day periods quite often, heh.)
  7. BR might be good once you've gotten your player a bit established., with flares or extra bullets you can waste, but I had just made the character and only had a week or so of looking around Forlorn, 50/50 chose BR over MT to head to next cuz I hoped for a bow and was low on pistol rounds. Eh, hindsight I guess I should've gone easy and went to ML. But that said, I feel "common" wolf packs, not Timbers, seems a bit intense at the moment, and so does bear respawn. And I kind of agree with the poster above, there should be a point of time in my opinion where you've killed off the spawn rate at a particular location, or at least reduced it. Especially with bears. Dens don't really get any new comers after the bear whose home it was gets killed off. I know it's a game and all, but bears shouldn't respawn in my thinking. Back when we only a few maps it was fine because there weren't that many bear spawns. Now there's a lot more spawn points for bear, and in my thinking, once that bear is killed, it should stay killed.
  8. Not sure what the thought here was, allowing 3 and 4 packs of wolves to spawn in close-in locations in BR. I'was only doing Voyager, but had to kill 3 wolves along the railroad tracks on the way into Broken Railroad from Forlorn Muskeg, make my way limping into the Maintenance Shed and lick my wounds as one of them got to me. And now, for the last 4 days every time I try to leave the maintenance yard I'm attacked by a different wolf, 2 killed by a gun, 2 after melee. Then I'm making my way down to the Hunter's Blind, sucks to be me, have a bear and be dead. Voyager? Yeah, can't say I'm going to try BR in Stalker or Interloper, dumb allowing that many aggressive creatures to spawn and path in that small of an area.
