Day 10

Alrighty, so I got a lot done while in Desolation Point. A lot more than I expected honestly. I'm going to make my way over to Coastal Highway now. There's a campfire inside a cave where The Arch that I place The One Fire at for now. Going to warm up for a bit in here...

Things I got cured in DP:

  • 4 Guts
  • 3 Maple Saplings
  • 6 Birch Saplings
  • 1 Rabbit Pelt

And skills I leveled up

  • Carcass harvesting is level 2
  • Cooking is level 3, nearly 4 (Thanks Fir Seeds!)
  • Fire Starting is level 3, because I picked the Fire Master feat
  • Ice Fishing is level 2
  • Archery is level 2

And that's all for now...

Okay, good news and bad news.

Bad news: Torch died on me when I was transporting over to Coastal Highway. Wind picked up.

Good news: I didn't make the same mistake that ended the first run. The fire over at The Arch is still alive and warm! So just going to rest some more over there, until the wind dies down...

Also, yes I did remake the last post.

For some reason the image just showed up in the middle of all the text.... Even though I vividly remember posting the image at the end like I always do. And for some reason you can't edit posts after some time...

So I am, 10 minutes before I have to head to work, remaking the post... Ah well...

Day 14

After fighting off a cold IRL, I hop back into my save and continue keeping this flame alive as best I can.

I made a quick trip over to Pleasant Valley to grab the hatchet that is stuck into the training target outside of the red barn. From what I know, this hatchet is guaranteed to spawn here. And since the makeshift hatchet just isn't really cutting it anymore (Yes, pun intended), I needed an upgrade.

Day 25

Yeah, been a little while. Things have become rather stale lately. The challenge is a little too easy here in Coastal Highway, so I'm going to be moving to the next region to hopefully get the fun rolling again soon. Anyways, here's what I've been up to.

  • Flame is still alive
  • Moose meat is all cooked
  • Cooking Skill is level 5 now
  • Carcass Harvesting is Level 3
  • Wolf Skin coat has been crafted
  • Rabbit Hat has been crafted

And, that's it. Once that moose hide gets cured, and I make a satchel, I'm going to move to Pleasant Valley against my better judgement.

The Fire has been moved to the community center in Thomson's Crossing. Going to keep in here for a while. Being in the center of Thomson's Crossing means I have access to plenty of food for The Flame. Plus I'm pretty close to Cinder Hills Coal Mine, which has respawning coal.

Also, it's nice to have be able to use a wood stove. 6 cooking spots is nice.

Day 28

Soooooooo, this is pretty embarrassing, but I let the flame die....

I woke up, and was going to gather up some coal from the mine, but I forgot to feed the fire before I left, and when I got back, well I can guess what I came back to... The flame has died.

  • 4 weeks later...

Alright, this is something that has been on my mind for a bit now... Something I need to admit to about this challenge.

That is... I don't enjoy posting about. I DO however enjoy playing the challenge on my own, but posting about it on this thread has become a chore that I don't want to do anymore.

The last run of the challenge ended with me "forgetting" to fuel the fire, that wasn't really the case, and I lied. What really happened was I just let the fire die so I can be done with the run and not have to post anymore. I wanted it to end because it became a chore that I grew tired of. You may have noticed that during my second run, my first few posts were fairly lengthy, but after a while I started to just make posts that were a sentence long with a picture to go with it. I gotten lazy real quick, and just wanted to shoot out quick posts so I can get back to playing the game and having fun.

The best way I can explain it, is it would be like watching a show that you love, but during the half way point of every episode you had to pause, and write an summary of what happened. Then continue the episode until it ends, and write another summary of what happened during the second half of that episode. Basically, it's just an annoying pause that I don't want to do, I just wanna keep playing.

So yeah, don't expect me to post anymore runs here. If anyone wants to take a shot at the challenge and post about it here, feel free! I'm going to be taking a bit of a hiatus from the forums, since I'm a bit burnt out from TLD. See you all next update! (maybe)
