Making the game less clunky in some of its areas, examples

Examples/ideas:

1.When getting sprained ankle or any injury for that matter we could have a pop-up on the right side of the screen displaying the item from the inventory that we should use to treat said injury and prompting us to either press/hold a button to use the said item (bandage etc) or tap another button to hide the pop-up, because for whatever reason we don't want to use that item.

Same as above could be for other things like drinking water when we are getting thirsty.

2.We should be able to keep moving when we are eating, drinking water, or using the radial menu. Why do we have to stand still to drink water when there are wolves around? It ruins the pace of the game. It is unpleasant. I can't describe it with other words. Please Hinterland.

3.And because I am talking about water, why does drinking a lot of water ( say 0,6L) take the same amount of time as if we were drinking 0,1L of water? Again it's the same with eating. I think the time it takes to drink water or eat food should be related with the amount of the water drunk or the food eaten.

4. About picking up items. When left clicking on an item it should go directly in the inventory. It's annoying, unpleasant having to double click every stick I find on the ground. Instead make a pop-up appear on the side of the screen with a prompt to make detailed information appear on the screen. Moreover you can give info like how many duplicates we have from this item in the backpack and MAYBE how much it weights. If you are sceptical how this would work out when picking up many different items you could have only one pop-up on screen. When this would fade out the next in order would appear.

I revisited the game over the years and I finally narrowed down what things I think would make my experience better because I think the current experience suffers from all this things that ruin the flow of the game.

Please feel free to add your own ideas. It's up to Hinterland if they ever change anything but It's still worth sharing your thoughts.

1) I think this could go either way. There is something to be said about looking through your inventory to give the feeling of looking through your bag. I don't mind this one.

2) Yes, obviously a human being can walk and eat/drink. This should be possible in the game. There are too many things in this game that are just strange that detract from how involved I feel when playing. It's the same with number 3. It's just one of those strange things you notice and wonder why. It's all of these strange things that add up and hurt the experience for me.

4) Autohotkey saves my fingers in this game. This game has a big problem with clicking too much. I feel sorry for console players.

1) Personally I like looking into my backpack, choosing the best item for the situation, I wouldnt like to change that.

2) Totally agree. Also I would like to sprint sidewards, as it is a bit like sprinting while turning my head, not like I would run sidewards in reality

3) Totally agree, same for 0.03 kg of food. I am also not sure if the scent emitted by a 25cal peace of meat is equal to 900cal one.

4) I agree to a certain Point, TLD is really clickheavy, especially when sorting items (no sliders, no numbertyping) The pop-up idea I dont like too much, because in my eyes it would get one out of the game world. But having options to view an item for the first time and later only to take it by 1 single click would be awesome, especially for sticks and cattails (3 clicks for 150cal...).

Beacause when you dont want to eat the full snack you have the time to stop at the half and keep the rest for another night
