cide_sui
Hello! Have a question that bother me a while. Can't find any answers at forums etc. Does knife condition mean smth? Is there any difference between 100% and 1% sharp? For example - % of damage to the wolves, time of crafting or looting smth? 100% - max efficiency, 1% - min? It also aplly to prybar/hatchet and etc. Do I have to maintain my knife at 100% sharp all the time, or It is just about "amount of times to use". Pillock
Condition only affects how likely the thing is to break when you use it. Keeping it close to 100% condition doesn't make it more effective at whatever tasks you're using it for. (but I do think the gameplay would be improved if it did) I generally sharpen or repair tools only when I've got 'dead' time to fill, like waiting out a blizzard or for something to finish cooking. cide_sui
@PillockThanks Would be cool to add this mechanic, it's more RPG-like but still. Seems like it not so hard to make.
Serenity
Tools below 25% (I think) can break entirely. If your hacksaw breaks when you are sawing open a cargo container on TWM you lose access to that container
hozz1235
Technically you are "sharpening" the knife with the whetstone, but in game mechanics, you are simply improving the condition of it. Not sure about you guys, but I've seen some older knives that had been sharpened so much that the blade has gotten noticeably smaller.
