FunkyFuggerson
So I was playing today and she walked into the living room were I was playing and watched me for a bit and said, "I don't know why you got this game, you just walk around a forest shivering." I guess I cant really disagree, what do you think?

ThePancakeLady
If your Mom is not a gamer, she will not understand. I am sure there are things she likes that you do not understand. My kids turn us onto new games, my daughter (17) has developed 3 small mobile games that she has self-published. We don't have issues over video games in our house. When I was a kid, my parents got my brother, sister and myself into playing tabletop games, D & D in particular. They did not understand why we wanted an Atari 2600 when they came out. They didn't understand why we liked the music we liked. We didn't understand why they liked the music they liked. Maybe if you invite your Mom to sit down and play the game, and watch her, but don't "push" her while she plays... it may "click" for her too. Maybe not. But if you can't find the right words to explain why you enjoy the game, the game may be able to explain itself to her, if she tries playing it. But you know- Generation Gaps. They have existed for many generations. Yours and your Mom's isn't the first.
Klobberthon
"But Ma! You never let me freeze in the forest in real life so that's why I got this game" That's what I say to mine anyway
