Khan_Drichthyes
Two different snow shelters I've made. I wish I could claim not needing sticks, but the 2nd one needed a little reinforcement. The 1st one was with a small cooler as the brick mold and the 2nd with 5 gallon buckets. 1
Patrick Carlson
Nice work! The one with the stove must have been especially useful!

Khan_Drichthyes
From the side, the 2nd one looks like it was made of giant marshmallows. In painkiller induced delusions, Will would probably literally try to eat himself out of house and home. And yeah, with a decent fire, it was pretty good. -Naturally, with a hole to vent the smoke.

Ruruwawa
Very nice! Back in college (on Wisconsin!) I traveled with the camping club on skis to remote campsite in winter. Our tool: a machete. We had deep snow so we trod down a big area to compress it and quarried our blocks from that. Our shelters were quite comfortable, even with just backpacking stoves. And no cloth or sticks used for us either, just snow.
Khan_Drichthyes
Yeah, I can see Wisconsin getting deeper snow than North Carolina.

LeeHarveyOslik
Building a snow shelter (no cloth needed indeed). No fire, no bearskin coat, up to -30 oC at night. Russian language.
