  1. I left a recommendation a couple of months ago for footwraps, like Russian portyanki, as a sub for socks, especially if they accidentally get ruined in the late game. I don't mind this idea, but I think it would be tough on outerloper players!

Do you remember when that was? I just came back from like a three year break from this game. My only issue with degrading to bones is that, IRL, that takes a long, long time. Additionally, there is no way that the microorganisms necessary could be active for a long enough time to break it down. Then, when corpses are completely frozen, it would be really difficult for the larger creatures to make use of them as well. I think it would be cool if corpses would thaw a bit in higher temps, they might already do that, but I think it would be really unlikely that the corpses would decay to bones. I know that this came isn't super concerned with realism, though...
  3. I like the idea of the presence of foxes. Companion animals seem like it could exist in wintermute, but not in survival. As for what they could be good for, I like the scarf idea. I agree that a lot of the wildlife seems really scarce. If the Aurora was enough to shock bears awake, surely other animals would be out and about as well. Hearing birds has never really bothered me. I mean, how much of a finch is edible anyway? Most birds are a pain in the butt to hunt and clean. However, foxes are a bit bigger, and would make and intermediate-sized animal between the rabbits and wolves.

    2. Boiling off salt water can get you plenty of salt to preserve meat, so maybe it can only be collected naturally/renewably in coastal areas? Or, maybe you could find boxes of salt, like kosher salt, in houses? The whole food decay system would probably need to be revamped though. 8. I an intrigued by the idea of a bayonet as a struggle weapon for a bear. Perhaps it could serve the purpose that so many want the bear spear for! 10. Personally, I am annoyed by volume-based inventory systems, most of the time. Think like NEO Scavenger. There is always empty squares loose space filled with scraps of thread just to avoid an empty dot. I much prefer the mass-based inventory system in TLD. However, maybe there could be some kind of punishment for carrying large items. Maybe you could have the option of dragging whole branches and limbs home, instead of breaking them down on the spot. Maybe this could be helped by the new travois item, who knows!
  5. As I said, we have improvised cloth gloves and hats, but we do not have a crafted option for the sock slots. In real life, several armies have been relying on foot wraps for centuries, including Russia and Finland. They are easy to manufacture and cheap to replace. There are crafted options for every other clothing slot besides the long underwear and socks, but because the legs have more option slots, you can make up for it. I do not really have an idea of what stats to give them, but I would say they should be on par with regular sport socks. Perhaps you could "craft" them out of two pieces of cloth, one for each foot. I don't know, what does everyone else think? I am sure this is not really an original suggestion, I am sure many other people have had the same idea!
