  1. Yeah I know. I don't need HL to keep using mods, but I do need them if any of these mods are ever to become part of the base game so we don't have to run like 11 additional programs that introduce bug/crash potential just to improve the experience. As for the 3L, 8L of water, whatever....ever wonder exactly how you're carrying that around in your pack? Nice of them to just allow us to magically conjure bottles for all that H2O but that's not exactly how it'd work IRL, right? Don't get me wrong, TLD's base encumbrance system is superior to probably 100% of other FPS games but for me, survival is such a realistic experience that I'm always thinking about what the IRL challenges would be and how the game can replicate them.
  2. Honestly, making permanent some of the better mods. Hunger revamped, better water mgmt, better fuel mgmt, one-click sticks, even place anywhere are all mods that I feel are mostly gameplay-neutral (ie, they don't inherently lessen nor increase the challenge) and are almost inarguably more realistic than the base experience. I know we pack rats all love Well Fed but it really doesn't have much basis IRL, right? Besides that's what we have the Tech Pack, Satchel, and soon Travois for. I suppose water does make the game more challenging but seriously how AM I stashing all that 8L of toilet water anyway? Just my 2c for when we're back to mods.........🤞
  3. * another thing I'm finding a million of as well....now, where are all those weapons cleaning kits 🤔🤔🤔
  4. It must be Christmas haha. Seriously, way more access to flare guns and shells now. Not complaining!
  5. Hahaha I just lost a run where I found something like 10 cooking pots in Milton alone. I had 2 at Grandma's house, 2 at the Farm, and i think 7 others stashed before I bought it to a multi-wolf ambush at the main intersection. Now I'm on a new run there and have found only 2 but this run has gallons of lant fuel.
  6. Yes. Going to assume it's safe to post spoilers here now that you've tagged it. Vaughn's Rifle, 2 for 2 at Carter Dam. Can't imagine it's a guaranteed spawn, so pretty lucky to find it both times.
  7. Omg yes Ambient Light I never considered it OP before but.....now maybe. That and Place Anywhere 💔 I was using Hunger Revamped as well though, so.....guess I'll just have to keep suffering through with Well Fed 😂🤷🏼
  8. Thanks, yep, it's on there (although as a reply, not its own topic)
  9. Right, I agree with that - especially given the way Raph and Katie described the thought process in designing the Transfer Pass, everyone should have to earn their way to the FT at *least* once. What I mean is the game now telling you the region as soon as you spawn....I'd prefer it not to.
  10. Personally I'm against and would like to see it revert to how it was. I choose Random to purposefully NOT know where I am (to the extent possible). Those first minutes of survival where I'm trying to orient (while also not becoming frozen wolf lunch) are aleays some of my favorite of each run. Especially with the new spawn points.....why spoil the refreshed challenge?
  11. I posted this in another thread but as of this morning (U.S. time) and the update to 2.03, I can't even get the game w/new DLC to launch using MelonLoader. Please post here when anyone sees differently!
  12. I have found a new variant in an "old" area.....I'll save the spoiler 😉
  13. I realize the mods will take a while to get updated (and that this is not a topic that is a HL priority), but yesterday I ran successfully with MelonLoader 5.7 and a few super basic mods; this morning after the recent update neither of my systems will load the game with MelonLoader installed. It starts to run ML then just quits, no error message. Steam and PC.
  14. The vending machine idea was brilliant. Sadly, I fear we'll have to just keep getting angry about finding cash in the credit union safe instead of a revolver 😖😅
  15. Have to agree, that image and the boots icon sure makes it look like the Trader is a real guy. And sitting in a boxcar also leads me to believe that the physical location won't even be that challenging to find. Which is a little disappointing on the surface, but HL has made so many good decisions keeping survival so true to the concept that I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
  16. Haha see if any of my long list of preferred mods still work. I actually run the game on two systems, one of which now has a bug with my mods and custom settings (can't clean, maintain, read, or repair anything) while the other doesn't. And I start all my runs (sort of Stalker+) in random regions anyway, so especially with the spawn and loot refresh making plans before start is largely impossible, right? No plan survives the line of departure, we used to say. Which is kind of the point, to me 😅 Can't wait for tomorrow!!
