This is all fine and dandy, but when is it coming to console? Ilove what i see in the videos, and i really want to get my hands dirty in the hangar. The one video said it was dropping for all platforms at the same time, but i can't find hide nor hair of it in the game store. And does that mean that the update for the base game hasn't dropped yet as well?

Consoles are now February.... (Switch March).

it indicated admin was logged in as well and just so happened to be reviewing these posts!  So that's a good thing, right?

If they listen and don't just read what they *want* to hear then yes Piddy. (Of course not all positive comments are wrong, just as not all negative comments are, I just mean those that come from people who refuse to acknowledge even the slightest negatives with HTL/TLD.  That is just as unbalanced and unhelpful as unwavering negativity).

I am desperately unhappy with the state of what is a truly treasured game, this game saves (sorry, now past tense saved) me in a hugely isolated life living with PTSD.  I had such high regard for HTL and their commitment to quality control.  However all the issues with this expansion, the terrible lack of effective communication being one of the biggest, have stopped me playing completely.  Unheard of since I started in 2016.

My sticking point is that the lack of clear communication simply did not tell us that "DLC Expansion Pass" meant being a beta tester.  I did not sign up for being a beta tester.  Nowhere in the over hyped and unclear videos were we clearly told this is what was expected of us.  I would *not* have bought the expansion had I known this. If they wanted beta testing then it should have been given to a number of trustworthy veteran players to give their opinions on or it made explicitly clear in the marketing of the product that anyone who bought it would in fact be buying it as a beta tester.

I do understand that splitting the game is a massive thing and of course there will be bugs and difficulties.  However, those things were previously kept to a minimum by HTL who always released content which was pretty good in terms of bugs. It was one of the things I loved them for.  I thought that we were getting a split game which *had* been tested properly, that would have been checked to make sure it didn't break too many things that had already worked for a long time.

That isn't the case here.  If it were a few bugs here and there, like we have come to expect from HTL, then that wouldn't be a problem.  If it were a few more bugs than usual then still fine because as has been correctly pointed out, it is a newly split game.  But the state it is now? Along with the awful communication (see taking out caches, a constant since the very early days of the game, without telling anyone) what we have just isn't what was sold to us.  The expansion/DLC should never have been released alongside the brand new split of the game in the first place if it hadn't been properly tested.

Another major concern is - if this is what happens on first launch, does it mean that every single content update is going to be such a mess (both game and communication)?  If that's the case then I can see it being a year (or however long it takes them to finish the expansion) before I play again.

  3. I've got parasites several times from 1% chance. And given the rarity of me eating predator meat at all that's actually a very high percentage of getting parasites compared to consumption.

I have always thought this was a bit "off". One of the reasons I only eat it when I'm desperate, the percentages don't seem to matter.

(Although you really were unlucky eating it by mistake)

  4. I'm getting more "miffed" by the day Piddy... but thank you for highlighting this

Edit - this is typical of how Hinterland have become, they never answer a question properly or provide proper information.

"I hope this clarifies why they're missing".... err well no actually, you haven't told us the *actual reason* for them being disabled!

  5. I also feel the same way as LMG and others in relation to what's happening.

I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed. It seems the DLC is being viewed and used as an "Early Access DLC". The amount of bugs and issues is not what I expected.

TLD is no longer an EA game and I did not sign up for a DLC which was at this stage of polish and bug testing.

Yes we were told that content would come to us on a rolling basis which was fine, but at no point were we told that we were paying for further early access status content in a full release game.

More transparency and honesty about *exactly* what we would be getting should have been provided.

I think that for the sake of Console players, if I do get a chance to wander some more... I think I'd just stay in familiar regions so I can chronicle without risking running into any significant spoilers.  🤔

At least until the console release catches up.

Welcome! I like you already. Before TLD Fallout was my main love.... I'm also in the older than most gamers category. So you're in good company here.

Although I think you're bonkers doing Loper, but each to their own 😁

Have, umm, fun (?!) in Loper!

Ps if you're talking about GMT then it sounds like you could also be a fellow Brit in which case a double welcome

It's frustrating and a pain... and I certainly didn't mean to stoke those kinds of feelings.
If I remember correctly (I'll look to see if I can find the post), the trouble with the differing availability times is the vetting process that happens with the consoles and other delays due to other platforms being involved (like G.O.G. being notoriously sluggish to make updates available to folks who bought TLD on their platform).  As I recall, they release all the updates at roughly the same time - from there it's a matter of those third parties making the update available to their customers.

    ... I found it!

      :coffee::fire::coffee:

I know it doesn't make it the wait any easier... but at least there is a reasonable "why" behind it.

    Thanks for this response M.

My feeling is that whilst I understand that consoles require more hoops to jump through...

... wouldn't it have been better to plan the release to ensure that all players got the expansion at roughly the same time?

I know there might have been some unforeseen issue which meant slight differences between the platforms, but this amount of time?

... Delay the PC release until it could be done alongside consoles. I really don't like the way it has been done. It's like telling console players they are second tier customers.

And I'm a PC player. I'm not complaining because I'm on a console. I just feel it is bad planning/customer relations.
