Camp Office. Pros: Space, workbench, near wildlife and fishing, central. Cons: Single slot stove, dark, low storage.
Well, in reality it's three stove slots given you have two more upstairs. And you can lit both the downstairs and upstair stoves with single match

Mind you, Signal Void wasn't about surviving, strictly speaking...
That's right, it was hunting for pirate treasure

Challenges or tales about taking photos in a survival situation...? Well I guess the survivalist is now making pies and pancakes by campfire, too. Is crafting a snowman next? We already have carrots and scarfs. Only nees to find old record player for those Christmas tunes then. And Christmas tree. That'll help with the blizzard

Yeah I don't think the new loot spawn points really made that much difference - even guaranteed match spots are still scattered around - but I'm hoping the wildlife refresh is different. Otherwise they'd probably already published it, if it's just new patrol routes for wolves and no randomization

Ranking of stuff I look forward to:
1) Cougar
2) Mountain Pass
3) Industrial Mine
4) Wildlife freshment
5) New high end graphics
6) Safehouse customization
The rest I don't have feelings one way or another
Except for Trader which sounds terrible
And thermos shouldn't be overpowered (versus normal tea buffs), same to travois

You can do fine for a while even with Loper-tables when spawning to toilet-heavy zones like Milton or CH, but elsewhere not for long.
I think on NOGOA max 3 days from the spawn, and that's when you've managed to find lucky toilets and even luckier magic cans. Without bedroll I've managed 25 days without on NOGOA but fire is different
Anyway, unless you do one region challenge, you ought to get 1000 matches + eternal mag lens anyway so this is just theoretical. I'm currently doing one region, low recovery, low loot, low plants run on FA and it's glorious with just a single box of matches so far in about 10 days. In a way I'm glad I haven't found mag lens. The last fire, I'll have to keep going on eternally (unless I continue to the new Mine map when it opens but that is likely another run)

Ditto sticks
Sticks are never useless whereas rocks can be. You shoule never stop collecting sticks unless horrendously overweight or on lower difficulties

Apart from beachcombing which is super OP now
Yeah that's the the feature most needing rebalance for Interloper loot and Custom. Currently the only way not to get too much stuff from them is skipping em entirely, which isn't really ideal...

Btw, whether or not the Interloper tables were modified, I'm more so asking that there would be option in the Custom menu to have worse general loot. (And while we are at it, worse minimum temperatures 😋)

I've always been on the opinion that the general loot tables on the highest level, which is only Interloper (as the Custom game options for some reason do not go beyond that (with the exception of harvestable plants)) are still way too generous all over the board. There's just so much premade stuff. But with the recent updates it's nearing absolutely ridiculous levels, especially with the food menu. Excluding the rabbits and cattails (of which I could've had bunch more too if I would've bothered), this is all the food and spices I've gathered during the first 24 hours to the game with Loper loot tables. They're just from PV farmhouse, the two barns, community hall, the gas station, and 3 cars, I haven't touched any other place. The other buildings in Thomson's Crossing probably have loads of junk too when I venture into them, I also already ate some cans of pork and chocolate bars the previous day so they are not showing here. (Btw, I also found a 100% condition rabbitskin hat from the smaller barn next to the farmhouse... ... ... riiiiiight... am I playing Voyager?)
I mean, if you're playing One Region -only this loot level might be okay in terms of difficulty, but otherwise...

-60 celcius air temp + don't remeber what wind in the base game, IIRC in the Bleak Inlet lookout tower and couple of times somewhere else
Around -120 celcius air temp + don't remember what wind in Relentless Night, insanity of course

It's very very rare anyways, almost a 0.1%. Marine flares are relatively common, giving the player an additional renewable fire source.
However, I think it's a good change. Fire have been renewable for eons thanks to the maglens, now we have more options, albeit very limited for the rarity of items washing.
There's too many matches on Loper loot levels in general and now you are getting them here too...

Wait there's a new bunker in HRV? I didn't know... too bad, that kind of ruins the barren wilderness & no human settlements vibe I loved about the map. Guess I have to pretend that too doesn't exist now

I'm a simple man. The less stuff there is in offer, the happier I am. It comes closer to true Survival and living off the land, rather than hoarding. Therefore not only would I love to be able to disable this luxurious treasure cove Beachcombing 2.0, but also have the Custom options to offer loot tables worse than the lowest setting now available. Currently the only way to achieve this (and rekindle the old TLD spirit where the World was small) is to do One Region challenges or just ignoring stuff on purpose. Which you of course have to do anyway in any game to some extent but I'm also talking of things like matches which still spawn in millions

Just the marine flares. The regular ones get extinguished.
That's nice

Good advice.
Another tip - marine flares stay lit even when going through waterfalls.
Oh I didn't know this actually, is that only marine flares or regular ones too?
If it's only marines it's good as balancing act I think, as otherwise I find them really useless against regular flares. TWs are just about as cautious of regular flares (and torches) as marine flares, stupidly I might add. But now they have some theoretical unique purpose

Changing the % of the loot tables or removing certain items it's more than enough to balance the system.
Im pretty sure HTL it's gonna address BC earlier or later, because actually the system even makes several game features meaningless.
I'd be fine with new items after every storm if the chance of getting garbage like sticks or recycled cans was the most likely outcome. It would make getting those valuable items once every 50 storms or so more rewarding

TBH this needed more rebalance fixing than bringing "Tales" to Loper... beachcombing is horrendously easy now. Especially when blizzards are set to max.
I now almost wish to complete disable it via custom options if it's to be like this...

By almost i think the trader won't be available on interloper, but i don't think the community will overreact as they did with the exclusion of tale on interloper since most of us don't even want the trader in the first place.
Indeed...
If the Trader is what we fear it is, hopefully it can be turned off in Custom too.

This sounds much better! However i don't see this happens due to the work involved with a change like this.
Is it really that much work?
It makes too much sense.

Complete nonsense. That's just your preferred playing style. I almost never chain torches and I'm doing just fine. Using a lantern is just easier and it also gives the fish oil a use.
Yes and that is just your preferred playing style...?
The poll did say "What do you think" didn't it?

Please Change Death During Sleep
in Survival Mode
Posted
TBH all interiors should have changeable temperatures like in real life, and they should be much, much colder. You shouldn't be able to take current luxury beauty sleeps anyway. Our own cottage, in the North in winter, is often way colder inside than it is in the outdoors.
