  1. As I am out here I have endured some hard times but also have enjoyed extended moments of happiness. Those times of happiness included long stretches of time with nothing really to do. The hard work had been done and preparation was set. I find myself longing for a hobby. Perhaps the ability to whittle myself a nice decorative object or craft up something special to make my chosen space feel more like my own. I would certainly enjoy a nice warm blanket on my bed that I took the time to craft myself, or perhaps fashioning a custom drinking/cooking cup from scrap would be worthwhile. As I write this I find myself suffering from a peach pie headache. I don’t remember a time where this would happen to me but now it is a regular occurrence. I find that the sugar gives me a lot of short term energy to get a task done or get where I need to go. A small crash later on would occur inevitably. No headache though. I’d like to see this realistic action implemented instead of headaches all the time. Went out hunting the other day in my favorite spot. It took awhile to get into a spot without spooking the deer. I wished that there was a hunting blind. That is something that could be added to some areas where it seems hunting would definitely take place. A nice change of pace to hunting down at ground level and a nice place to take in the peacefulness of the forest. Ok, I am off to see a bear about a coat. -bearded dude
  2. I’d like to see: Beavers. (In certain areas) for trapping. This would also open up new clothing items that could be crafted from it. (Footwear from tails, hats from pelts) It also opens up a food source (meat and tail is used as well) Beaver trap (crafted from scrap metal) this gives additional use for scrap metal Wolverine (another predator). Could take food left outdoors and attack you. Creates additional dilemma trying to survive. Sled (crafted from wood and scrap metal for runners) allows greater flexibility in carrying meat back from hunting or lugging gear. To offset it making life too easy it should take considerable time to craft, material to maintain it, and not be made accessible in many places (climbs, decent, and maybe into some new areas). Look forward to seeing what direction things go in the future. Be open minded, challenge yourself, and be willing to fall flat on your face.
  3. By the way, those of you that think two player survival would be easy or ruin the isolation have never had to survive anywhere with another human being. It brings challenges that you can’t even contemplate unless you’ve done it. It is a completely different experience. Also, if the option was still present to go it alone why the big deal about having coop anyway? You want to lonewolf it go for it. I’m just open to new experiences and feel the developers should be also.
  4. What troubles me about the developers response is that in the end it should be about two things; giving the people what they want and being profitable/charitable. You make a new experience that makes teamwork and survival the focus, instant hit. I’d hate to be stagnant in my thinking as a game developer. How can I push the boundries, deliver what the customers want, and be true to our selves? Coop can fit all those things. I fully understand the undertaking of adding it to the current game would be overwhelming but a completely new game in cooperating the great things you’ve done, while pushing the boundries of what is possible coop wise would be a fantastic endeavor. The possibilities would be endless.
  5. First, thank you for the free event. It is rare these days to be given something like that without coughing up more money. Appreciated. For me I would have liked the option of incorporating the event into my current saved game. I am not one of those sissy types that complain it is too hard and they may die, this ruining a long term game. It is about survival and being tested. Literally what this game is about. I’d welcome the new challenge after being "out there” for going on 200 days now.
  6. They could easily make it solo or coop. I’d play both. Brings different things into play and sharing scavenged items (or not) is a dynamic worth investigating imo.
  7. I’d love to see a second edition of this game come out with a story that allowed for changing of the seasons. The crash aspect, and survival after it, locked them into an all winter scenario. In survival mode if say the world had collapsed five years ago leaving the world’s population very small overall, especially in remote places such as where we currently find ourselves. The mode could be played solo or online with up to four players. (I’d settle for 2) There would be two options for the coop, spawn together, or randomly apart. Completely different outcomes/adventures there. Anytime coop is selected the world becomes twice as hard. You’ll have to share the limited resources and work together to survive. Since we could now experience the different seasons, new challenges could arise based on new weather and other environmental differences. The winters could be more severe and less fruitful foraging and hunting wise because you’d have the spring/summer to build resources. Natural disasters and odd weather patters exist because the world has gone to heck. I’d like to see some ability to grow food. Harvesting seeds perhaps or finding them. Weather would play a huge factor in growing. Lastly, two smaller additions would be the ability to hunt birds and making car batteries more useful. Keeping the base of the game, the overall feel, and the passion they put into it must be kept. This game is such a great jumping off point and I look forward to seeing what they do with it.
  8. Nothing like a bear attack to really get the blood flowing in the morning. Heh.
  9. Today is day 150. I’m feeling tired but am in a good place now. Took a bear down from the top of a cliff this morning. After repelling down I was able to locate the bear and quarter it. Realized that carrying weight up the steep cliffside was more taxing than anticipated. I’ll have to go down again tomorrow to bring up more. Wolves continue to attack the rabbits near my traps. I’m going to have to hunt them. Preparing for storm. Low on ammo and arrows.
