  1. It's a great subject

I enjoy watching lectures from Richard Feynman :) and also some by french physicists like Alain Aspect (who proved experimentally Quantum Entanglement  and Bell's inequality ) or Etienne Klein (who is as captivating as Feynman)

I also watched MIT's 3 sessions lecture "Introduction to Superposition" available on youtube (highly recommended)

Since I studied electronics, I was familiar with complex numbers and wave functions so it allows me to understand a few things and not drown that fast in the 3rd lecture 😂

    Good luck

    Bears have predictable paths

I wish bear paths were less predictive 😉

Bears do not care about fire. I never had the problem the OP mentionned with wolves (doesn't mean it can't happen) although one of my early tactic in an interloper game is to get a deer between me and a pursuing wolf and once he kills it, set up a fire nearby then scare the wolf away with a torch then start a new fire near the deer carcass. This is how I eat deer meat before building a bow 😁

We apologize for the lack of clarity around the terminology.

To be fair, I didn't pay attention to the terminology because I trust you to do the right thing simply because you've proven yourselves trustwothy along all these years :)

So as our @Polynomial-C friend stated above, shut up and take our money :D

  4. Behind Hinterland 100% !!! The game cost for me is now down a cent an hour and dropping, I feel like scamming the studio.

I can't wait to pay what the game is worth to support new developments and if you want to open a kind of subscription, I'm ready for it.

    I❤️TLD

I disagree that TLD philosophy has to be all about "survival" and "not camping."

Oh TLD is fine as it is regarding this balance, I think this cliché answer is mostly provided when people ask for ability to build structures.

I wouldn't like the devs to spend time on this (there are already other game that allow building ... Subnautica, Standed Deep ...) and rather go on with what makes TLD specific (did I argue ? ooops 😄)

Disagreement and even conflict can be healthy

    Yup, can be.

I have to just remember that this isn't a perfect world

Hmmm, what would define a "perfect" world ? 😁 (just kidding, don't even try, world is that's it end of story, perfection has no meaning in itself, perfection is limited to a context)

About discussion, it is interesting to read  "The art of beeing right" by Arthur Shopenhauer, the preliminary expose the necessity and healthiness of challenging ideas (the bright side of rethoric), and how it is distorded in tricks to have your opinion prevail at all cost (the dark side). Available for free in PDF, public domain, not too long and it really help identify tricks that politicians are very keen on lol (like claiming victory when you lose)

Allright, back to blackrock now 😉

I don't think it would fit the tone of TLD. Raph describes it as "vulnerability fantasy", and clean cozy home really goes against this description.

The way I see it, every building can be your shelter or base, but none of them can become a home. In the harsh uncaring world of the long dark the feeling of safety and comfort is only temporary. It can only exist in contrast to slowly walking against the blizzard as hypothermia takes over.

Most of house furniture can either be used for storage or broken apart. What a nice armchair, it would be a shame if you had to destroy it just to boil some water...

This game is about survival, not camping.

In the exemple above that you provided yourself, I see absolutely nothing to be offended about.

And frankly, I see nothing in all your exemples.

Sometimes, opinions are a bit harsh, ok, so what ? As long as it is sustained by comprehensives points.

We're not supposed to be experts on communications are we ? Eventually, answering positively to something a bit too agressive may help the poster adjust his message 😉 After all, he wants to be heard, not rejected because of poor words choices

  8. I don't see how you see people summerazing TLD phylosophy (survival not camping) as insulting or unpolite.

Hinterworks has made choices that makes this game what it is and unlike many others, "survival not camping" is just a way to remind what TLD is about.

And I see opinions sustained in the exemple provided which you can hardly call trolling. A troll doesn't bother to sustain anything, his purpose is to make you waste time, not him.

Perhaps zombie rabbits resurrected from carcasses left behind? lol

I once suggested a Zombie mod for an Halloween event, I thought about dead corpses but the animals also would be great 😁😱

  10. Just don't bring polishits here guys 😞

Yup the Necronomicron, written by the mad Abdul al-Hazred. When I was in my early teens, reading Lovecraft would really give me the shivers 😨 I wouldn't read his books alone at home lol

If you likeLovecraft, you should enjoy Jean Ray, Malpertuis is available in english. Both authors are from the same generation, both started publishing around the same period by the end of WWI

Although there may be no reason to enter Black Rock region there is still the need to challenge yourself a bit. I'm taking my long run interloper survivor with level 5 archery and hopefully depopulate that prison.

I went there with a 30 days interloper before even visiting a forge. Was quite a rough ride, made it to the pen. Played hide and seek with the wolves exploring it.

Tried to put a fight to some wolves with the hammer and ballistic vest to get access to rabbits, went short on food, ended with no options but flee the region but a blizzard then Timberwolves got me on my way out.

Yet, I enjoyed the ride very much :)
