(First time on top of Timberwolf Mountain.)

Nice. I just failed (interloper), bitten by a wolf, caught in severe weather (blizzard, -7c in the morning despite the snow shelter + bear bedroll), only survived on a rush fall back using  all the 3 emergency stim I had in a row. Close call.

I'll be back ! (even if I have to go through the Moria lol )

My personal favorite of the bunch.

Thanks for your appriciations guys 😉

Yes, this is my fav too because the closeup kinda puts you in a wolf's dark and cold loneliness perspective, creating a empathy link.

Ultimaty, I realise that empathy with animals and nature is the key of beeing in the wilderness, I guess it is the transcription of this feeling TLD achives so successfully and why I keep going wandering in its world.

Ps: Hinterland, take my money and keep it up.

  3. Here is a serie from yesterday due to sheer luck. I shot a wolf in the late afternoon, he fled with my dear arrow. At night, I got out to try to find it, what I found is the dead frozen wolf with my arrow in its jaws but standing with an idle animation (1)

So I made a series of silhouette pics (2,3,4)

Almost froze to death while taking pics as the weather turned to a blizzard so I falled back to a cave (5)

In the morning, the wolf was still there, but it lacked the drama effect of night and snowfall (6)

People criticizing this game graphics don't get it.

he he, of course,  Apocalypse secure !  😉

I still got one home, when I was a stud, I couldn't afford much vinyls, so I would buy 78rpm on flea markets 😉

  5. I whis I could find an old gramophone in game, and 78 rpm here and there, blues, dixie jazz, bluegrass, first nation music ... It would help against cabin fever while cooking, mending, crafting ...

    Oh well :)

... to me it is relaxing and therapeutic. I am a Nurse and at times when I need to let off steam I play TLD has been a job saver for me.

May I have your permission to save and use this wonderful photograph of Sad Bear?
I feel like I need Sad Bear in my life...

(I know that little protrusion is likely a bit of tongue... but it just looks pouty to me)

    Please, be my guest 😉

  8. Hi there from Paris, France (my dad was a brit WWII vet, so I'm a bit mixed).

I like music, from 1650 to 1980 😉 , I play guitar and used to have a rock band in the late 70's
It's been a long road from Pong, that I used to play in Cafés, Board and wargames (some would take monthes to complete), to The Lonk Dark.

I felt in love with TLD, played 684 hours so far, and felt in love with Canada as well as I made a 3 weeks trip last summer over there and I could measure how the designers of The Long Dark have it spot on.

A few pics out of my trip, wonderful land, wonderful wildlife, wonderful people ❤️

  9. I loved it. I didn't read anything about it to avoid spoiling.

I was in Pleasant Valley on Aurora, moving to Farmstead, unknowing of what was coming next, I killed 5 Timberwolves. My only regret is that I played it as usual, even started curing the wolve skins lol.
