Just take the subway.  Now that the preds are removed from it, the coast is clear.

Thanks for this! However I went there yesterday my very first time under the bridge and the bear was waiting for me there.... later on also the moose was saying hello to me in BI. Shall upload a screenshot later.

They did mention something about fixing areas where you could get out of the intended play area in the hotfix. They certainly changed the area where you could shortcut.

Thank you! I did not read something like that. So I have also to check other areas if they changed it or not. Will be hard to make a new best time.

Yesterday I went through the bridge and I think I will lose 60 to 75 minutes

  3. Started a new run yesterday and could no more use the shortcut in BI!?

Was there a update? I never saw something like this from Hinterland.

There are so many shortcuts in the game, and this is the first time they changed something on the territory to make a short cut impossible.

    Anybody else recognized this?

I finished it a few days ago with the other route (end in TWM) I also had 2 days 2 hours and a few less minutes than the other way. I was very unlucky with blizzards and I needed both last stims to survive. So I had no stim at all in front to TWM. I dropped everything except my last warm bonus and climbed up the rope with about only 3,5kg. With the stop at the ledge, where I took my warmth bonus and waited a bit to recover my climbing hands I made it up without any coffee.

In the mean time I also found the stim in the barn in other runs (there are three possible places). However to go to the barn and then back down again to the way up to the crushed airplane is quite detour.

I prefer the way through PV much more, because it is much saver with wolves than CH, but I am afraid that the other way might be faster.

Based on your claim of reaching the BR Shed in 7 hours, you must be taking a lot of condition loss on the way out.

Yes I lose (40%) a lot of condition. Different than others I make my fire in the first house where you also get the cloth from the curtain (also boiling water there).
Then I leave out the next fire in the cave to FM, my second fire is Old Spence Homestead, where I cook two mushroom teas, which almost hold me warm until Maintenance yard.

Here is a video (not from me) where you can see the shortest way out of BI  (about minute 7:00)

Hope you are recording, if you do it, I would LOVE to watch you.

I only recorded a few speedruns for Hopeless rescue and Whiteout but I am totally beginner in recording and it takes a lot of work to me.
Also I am only playing about 1,5 to 2 h in the evening.

can pick up the extra stim from the barn in PV

I did not really know this! Can you tell me in which barn and where exactly please!  I used to find coffee, brewed 5 or 6 on same time in the farm house and used it for the climb to TWM. (btw you can climb the TWM rope with only one coffee if you are light enough!!)

I never found a stim in PV before, but I only checked the radio tower, the farm house and the crashed airplane.

I just thought that the way all through ravine + the whole CH from upper left to right bottom, is longer than dam + PV.... but now I want to try the other way round.

At the moment I am pushing my heart a lot, means make as less fires as possible.

No matter how you do this, you will need to cross the bridge.

This is not correct, there is another safe way to the cave to leave BI.

I would suggest to everyone to leave BI on the shortest possible way. After less than 7 hours ingame time, I already reach the building in broken railroad!

Okay, I just had to go again... Now I'm done for sure! Videos with narration this time to follow... Merry Christmas Everyone :)

    Great time and run!

I am now at 2d and 2h. I guess best time possible will be around 1 Day 16 Hours or so.

My route was different with that time, I went back from Ravine, crossed the dam and went through PV. Radio tower, farmhouse, TVM

I try now also the route that everybody else is taking, but I have a lot of bad luck with the weather and just too many blizzards.

Also didn't find the stim in Cinders, its normally on the shelf behind the wire fence in the second room right?

Either there or on the platform right when you come from the staircase. But there must be another spawn point.

Third place is in the room just before you leave the cave. There is a box on a shelfe and the stim is on the left side of that box.

  11. That sounds about a lot of bad luck!

I thought there is always a rope in the ravine, either in the railcar or on the other side in the cave?

I finished the mission yesterday the first time with 12 days and some hours and I will start soon my next run and I will try to be under 5-6 days.

Can you tell me all spawns for the emergency stims?

I only found two in my first run.

    Ravine in the wagon

    Radio Tower in PV

    Thx in advance

  12. Someone else also asked me if this is true.

I am 99% sure I could do this in the beginning, I remember first time just when going to Jeremiah. I dropped all my matches and could light the wood torch.

Now I am almost finish with the mission and I tried it again, dropped all my matches and it did not work anymore.

So either this was a bug  or I am wrong. I shall test it again when I restart the mission. Will let you know

  13. @jeffpeng

Thank you very much for this useful summary, this might help many people to finish this challenge!

I am quite experienced in Speed running Hopleless Rescue and  Without, but I had almost zero experience with Interloper model.

I was short on matches the first three tries until I learned that you do not need matches to light wood torches. So since that I am no more short on matches.
The very first was to learn that health is not raising anymore, what changed my whole strategy.

Yesterday I looted the whole dam, and I found only 1 tee, one glove and one cereal bar, so not worth it at all!! But in some outside places (wagons) there is very good loot.

I just play 1,5 to 2 hours in the evening, so I will need some more days to finish it (if I survive), which is my first target, later on I will concentrate on speed running it.

    Thanky again
