  1. And here am I, a grown man, crying to a piece of music... Did not remember how beautiful it is.
  2. The place should be called Milton Basin Cave or something, imho.
  3. AAAAAnd we have a Winnerrr! Thanks Gotmilkanot!
  4. I only know one cave here, I'm living in it. Hope it's this one.
  5. Howdy, I'm on my Cartographer - All Skills 5 - and 500 days -run and I faced a problem. When mapping Milton Basin, it does not count into my mapped areas. I've have appproached area from Milton and from FM. And with bold strokes used my charcoal. Is there a specific spot, where am I supposed to stand and do my mapping, so that it would count.
  6. Thanks, You all! I got so many good tips from you. I was in HRV, my 1st time there, and started to wonder, if I can get up to the Lonely Cave and the areas next to it. Therefore my question. I knew that I must bring an extra rope with me to Many Falls Vista end of that "shelf". So I slept full night at the bottom of the rope, had only 3/4 full inventory and started my climb - And I barely made it; But I did! But as I said: Thank you all!
  7. Howdy, Which climbing ropes need Emergency stim to climb up? Or are all of those with conveniently placed rest stop aka ledge? I was seaching from net and here and did learn a lot of good stuff. But not a listing of ropes where E.Stim is a must to have
  8. Thanks, to all of you! I'm trying to achieve my 500 days mark and was thinking that if I collect maches to nearest workbench, will they be ruined around day 400 or so.
  9. Yeah, the question was already in the title... But I've combing through wonderous World of the InterWebs, and no clear answer so far - or atleast not fresh ones, 2017 was something...
  10. And to continue on topic Just shot and arrow to a bear, saw the blood trail and went to sleep in a house nearby. Next day I came to collect my rewards - and there he was ready to maul me, luckily had a rifle shot on him just before his attack. Sae the blood trail again. Patch myself again in the house and came to yard - and he is walking towards me as nothing had happend. Could it be that going indoors kind a resets the animal? Edit: Ooops, didn't realise that bleed out time with a pawn shot is 8 hours
  11. Thank you, thanks, kiitos, tack, merci.... With one stroke you answered two of my questions! I've been wondering what is that speed limit border inside caves. Often waking up in a cave and starting to walk towards opening and found out that first I drag myself and than suddenly speed up. But inside/outside border, makes perfectly sence!
  12. Oh please, please, please... No offence taken!😄 FYI ; Yesterday I one shot The Old Iron Hide - that's actually a better nickname for Fishing Camps bear - and just now trying to get my arrow back from Quonset's bear; He run off with as they often do.
  13. Not bragging my archery skills at all... But The Old Ironside, the bear in Fishing Camp neighborhood, was shot into the mouth by Yours truly - I saw the arrow sticking in his mout while he was mauling me and my clothes. After couple of days he was paying me yet an other visit: As if nothing had ever happened.
  14. So what is the cause of some pelts and cuts being "ruined" under 90%? Same cave and totaly different results in different parts. Is it the time they have been in backbag prior to curing? My little head is exploding....
  15. Howdy, Been wondering which is the ideal temperature for curing? In some open caves I'll get close to 100% pelts and guts. Just a few meters deeper or closer to opening the % is even below 90. Have not had fire or slept in them, so they can not effect the result. All this curiosity, cause I finaly learned the entering to a area - you know the black screen, while loading - where you have your pelts curing, also launches rotting calculator at them.
  16. Thanks Jay; Just confirms my doupts.
  17. Has bleeding been nerfed for Winter's Embrace? It used to be that hitting with an arrow caused bleeding and after a few hours it was just listening to crows singing nearby and harvesting the carcass. Now it seems that - atleast with bears - they are happily walking around and the shot arrow has been vanished. Even if you seen the blood trail.
  18. Mainly Survival, But "The Original" storymode taught me so much about the game and how to survive in it.
  19. Or even better; They could be added to fire same way as used torches - no benefits, just a way to get rid of them and anything else that can be used as tinder.
  20. I wish Tinder plugs were automaticly used , while litting fires, after your char reaches lvl 3 in Firestarting. That way they would disappear from the World and wouldn't litter my floors... Or be hidden into the any container possible.
  21. Thanks Sherri! This must be somekind of weird bug, due to WE, I suppose. I've even seen ghost laptops during Aurorae in Winter's Embrace. I left Costal Highway and went to DP, killed a bear there. Actually twice, since I was loitering there, and it had time to re-spawn. Came back to CH and Fishing camp. The Old Iron Side was there, had two arrow shots on it - one was too short, but the other one hit. Once again, I saw the blood. Went into a hut, waited for 3 hours, and found both my arrows in Camp. Hiked to bears cave, and there he was again, live and ready to maul me. Fixed myself, and waited on the top of those huge stones there. He rushed back towards me, shot him once more, and he run away. Slept one night, and there he was, dead as a dodo, in Fishing Camp. He even brought my arrow back.
  22. =P Yeah, several wolf skins, and a couple of bear hides and the necessary moose skin - a simple must in this game 😃
  23. What in-game OCD habbit do you have? Mine is hunting 5 - 7 rabbits and skinning them, when ever I arrive in a new part of a map. And drie them. So, if I ever come back, I've good supply of skins to repair my mittens and hat. I also bring a few dried guts to new areas with me. And I do this, even now, in Winter's Embrace, although I know, that this "challnege" will end. And it would be better just keep hunting those Maple Syrup bottles.
  24. Howdy! Playing as a Maple Syrup Hunter, and honestly, this is fun. -10C is not too bad, with decent clothing. Wind is annoying, especially, if you try to barbique your wolf outside, or boil some water. BUT these bears on Winter's Embrace. My lvl 4 Archery skills and head shots are nothing to them! Picture this, arriveing into the Fishing Camp from ML. Dressed in this seasons Wolf Coat, Deer pants and boots. Some bunny fur on your head and hands. Before you can drop your sticks to the ground, you hear a bear crowling. I call it The Old Iron Side, commemorating Oliver Cromwell, not USS Constitution, because he is vicious as OC used to be. You slowly take your bow, aim carefully to head and release - a head shot, you even see blod pursting from beasts head. Strategical retreat to the nearest hut, play solitaire like 2 hours to be on safe side and exit. You can't hear crows. Walking causiously all over the area and trying to find the dead bear. You end up to small field near it's lair. And there it is, not dead, but very much alive, and running towards you. It starts mauling you, and you can see your arrow sticking from it's mouth. Just before passing out, you longingly remember the time, when A HEADSHOT AND 1 HRS BLEEDING, was enough to kill a bear. Some bandage and an other strategic retreat. Scarred self-esteem and torn furs will be fixed. Next day you find Old Iron Side's boby stone dead in Fishing camp Few game days later at the other end of CH you shoot your arrow to The Misathropist. You see the blood, wait couple of hours, find even your broken arrow, but NO BEAR ANYWHERE! Not a dead one. Nor living either. The Misanthropist has evaporated. Hard to make a warm Bearskin Coat with these kind of non-coperative creatures. Anyone else having problems with unusually hard black bears in Winter's Embrace? I'm especially interested in stories conserning The Old Iron Side. Sometimes I have even felt that it is scripted to maul you and your clothes on arrival to CH. As a side note - I haven't found any Maple Syrup nor Expediton Parkas on Costal Highway. Don't bother going there. Next stop - Desolation Point! From my privious trips there, I recall this lovely pack of wolves near Hibernia Processing. They have had me as a dinner so many times. CU
  25. Most likely, you are right. It's a bug! Seems that you suffer the disorder as I do. I've spend more than 2 000 hours playing since release, and not yet have I survived 500 days on Stalker... And then there are those other badges I must achieve.
