question How long has THIS been here?

Apparently, there's a plane crash in the Mystery Lake. Was this always here? I have never seen it before.

There's been a few in certain maps since the caches were changed and bought back..   there are also ones in hrv, forlorn and coastal highway.

There are bit too many crash sites in the game now. However, they're still not as immersion breaking as the random bunkers in the woods and magical  beachcombing gifts from Santa.

I don’t believe so.  I believe that was added with the Signal Void challenge.  It sends a beacon during the Aurora that you can track.

What's really interesting is they exist in the game without the Tales dlc, kinda like a teaser for it.
