Thankfully the storm only lasted maybe for five or six hours.

It was a reasonably safe night hike (considering the limited visibility) back to the Camp Office.

I had spotted a couple of wolves skulking near the Train Shuttle at the Train Loading area, which is why I decided to take the safer backtrail through the birch forest.

I slept hard for the rest of the night.

:coffee::fire::coffee:
Not feeling too well... I may need to try to spend a day trying to fish.
In addition to bolstering my water supply, I'm going to need to see to my risk of Scurvy. 🤔

After a good night's sleep and a good think... I decided to get back on the trek to Milton.  I had three MREs on hand, and I ultimately decided it was better for me to stay on the move, rather than use up a day or two fishing. :D

I decided to leave Barb's Rifle behind as well.  I wouldn't need it for Milton or Hushed River Valley. :D

As I maneuvered along and across the tracks, I did apparently catch the attention of a wolf who followed me all they the Mountain Town cave system.🤭 It happened again, where even though when I pitched a stone and it struck the wolf on the back and watched it bounce off, the wolf didn't get spooked!  It's unsettling when you find a wolf with only a singular focus.

Quickly ducking into the cave, I finally managed to shake this most persistent wolf. :D

I still wish I could find a way over to investigate that bridge and overturned simi-trailers. 🤔

Stopped off to check to see if I had stashed any vitamin C rich foods here... (yes indeed, I found a bit of prepped birch bark).

Had to keep an eye on a single wolf who was prowling around.

I was already pretty tired when I got to the last climb, but a quick jolt from one of the Go! Energy drinks I've been holding onto made it an easy climb.

Getting close to sundown... I intend to get to Grey Mother's house before I bed down for the night.

Onward to Grey Mother's House...

Oh wow... I don't ever remember spotting four wolves back here before!  There were three in the frame... and one off to the right currently chewing on a rabbit. 😖 I must be cautious.

I first decided to stop off at one of the neighboring houses.

Spoiler

These will do very nicely for a decent boost of vitamin C...

Another lonesome teddy bear that I wish I could give a new home.

I quickly made my way over to Grey Mother's house for the night.

I'd forgotten about a coho salmon that I'd left out on the porch on my last run through town... I'd have two fish now for some more vitamin C. :D  Also about 14 liters of water to bolster my supply (most would be left here of course, but 4 liters would go into the pack).

I feel much better after my hearty meal... I think I'm clear of my risk of scurvy (at least for a little while).  I think it's going to be MREs for the next few days, unless I find something more along the way in the coming days.
