Come visit the Grey Mother's house with me in Sims 4!

I've decided to geek out a bit lately and recreated Grey Mother's house in Sims 4. I also created the Mother herself and decided to bring her daughter Lilith back to life. 

Compromises had to be made, like the general planning, window placement, color scheme, and landscape, but all in all, I am pleased with the result  

I'm not a big fan of custom-made objects, but I did download the blindfold for the Mother

Anyway, here it is!

 

 

Pardon the Mother using a toilet XD 

I will gladly share the files containing this lot if any of you want to give it a go (but you will need all dlc for that, otherwise most objects will be gone)

Hope you like it!  It was sure fun making it!

I've made Lilith adventurous, active, and cheerful with Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration 

When wearing formal wear you can see the pearls her mother wanted her to have 

There was not much to go on Mother's hobbies or personality but she seemed like a strong character. I made her loyal, self-assured, and loving outdoors with Super Parent aspiration

Anytime one tries to take inspiration from place and put it into another... there are always liberties that will likely need to be taken.
When I wanted to build a Forestry Lookout Tower in Minecraft, it wasn't a perfect likeness to the one's on Great Bear Island... turned out to be much more akin to Firewatch Towers in Colorado/Wyoming... but the spirit was there.

For you, the amount of detail you were able to put in your build is impressive.  I imagine you were able to import textures from in-game screen shots, or did you "custom paint" those yourself (specifically, for the bullet holes and things)?

In either case (as I mentioned before)... supremely well done.

First of all, thank you very much 😁

I actually was able to use everything in-game without importing anything! (except the blindfold for the mother)  With the amount of DLC and packs there are, the library is pretty massive. Those holes are actually a part of vampire expansion, I was very happy to stumble upon them 😬

I was using screenshots but just as a reference to look at.

Both that the game is that versatile, and that you knew how to leverage that to perfect effect.

BTW! I have Firewatch\ Long Dark inspired forestry lookout made in Sims, too! And the camp office! I made them a whiiiile back. They are not that detailed or identical since wanted them to be more "useable" for the sims, and also less empty and sad xD

I'll dig them up and post them later today

I know the Sims has a lot of add ons but I'm amazed they have half the stuff....     You've done an awesome job😊

I didn't get a chance to see it yesterday, but your Watch Tower is wonderful.  Yours is a near perfect reproduction of Great Bear Island's Forestry Lookouts.  When I was working on mine, I never did get around to working out exactly how I wanted the stairs placed (but those are the perils of Hardcore Minecraft... I suppose). 

Once again, very well done.

I never played Minecraft but from what I've seen recreating something in it with just cubes gotta be real tricky.

One of my other threads Non Sequitur... starts out with my previous tower project.
However, I will say up front that all I'd managed to get done was a starting framework.

WOW!! These are all so wonderful!! I am very impressed!! 

I took a little break from The Long Dark to check out some of the new Sims 4 packs (yes, I caved and got the horses!), but I never really thought of how neat it would be to try and recreate these iconic Great Bear places!

Kinda funny that this came out around now, because i redownloaded the sims a few days ago to make TLD characters in the sims for fun hehe

Ranch expansion is actually what prompted me to finish the grey mother's house! I knew it's gonna have lots of objects that I was missing like this big-ass fireplace and a small black one that looks fancier than the one we have in TLD but has a similar vibe. Also, all those old wood textures were right on point 

Let's all geek out! I thought about taking the biggest lot there is and try to recreate the whole com center area, houses, the church, everything

Ohhh ... sounds like a great challenge!

But I am a very slow Sims builder (too picky & deliberate, plus I'm on console) ... it'd probably take me a month to do all that!

oof, I can't imagine what it's like playing Sims with a gamepad...with all the point-and-clicking and constant need to move a camera. Honestly, sounds a bit like a nightmare 😅
