EternityTide
Admittedly a minor issue, but I have noticed that textures "Shiver" as you move about. The same thing occurs when viewing the mountains in the distance. It's not that important and doesn't detract from the actual gameplay, but it does spoil the atmosphere a little bit. elloco999
I've noticed the same thing. It's especially noticeable with the snow on the road from rural crossroads to end of the road where the surface of the road can be seen through the snow. When you walk/ run along the road they seem to move back and forth several inches.
Hinterland Raphael van Lierop Posted March 12, 2015 Hinterland Share Posted March 12, 2015 Are you talking about the grain/noise filter on the camera?
EternityTide
I'm not entirely certain what you mean by grain/noise filter, but basically when you walk along, especially on roads, the borders of where snow interacts with a solid surface, like the tarmac of the road, the border "shivers", clipping in and out of the surface by a small amount
Jeremy JPOW Powell
Not sure what you mean by Shivers. Are you seeing z-fighting? Like this:
klesh
Are you talking about the grain/noise filter on the camera? That had me cleaning my screen and my glasses and swearing I was seeing things. It seems to change with your breathing/exertion. I can dig it.
elloco999
I don't think it's the grain/noise filter on the camera, no.It could be z-fighting, I'm not sure. The best way I can explain it is like this: when you walk along the road, along the edge of the snow, where the snow meets the tarmac, it seems to blink on and off. It's like 1 sec there is snow and the next sec there isn't. The edge of the snow seems to move back and forth a few inches, but only when you walk/ turn. If you're standing still it doesn't happen. Jeremy JPOW Powell
Oh I think I know what your talking about. yea the texture of the snow and the road are fighting over who shows because they are so close together. Atleast I think, So I'll go and wander around and take a look.Jeremy
Seshins
I have seen the same issue., It is as you describe Jeremy, there appears to be a conflict with the texture and which one is displaying, seems to also cause a noticable FPS drop. I noticed it up on the road in PV where the pathe leading down from the mine encounters the road. Well, near that point.
EternityTide
yes sorry, haven't been on this forum section in a while. Yes, Z-fighting is what I've seen. The road and snow are constantly shifting their boundaries. Sorry for vagueness.
Jeremy JPOW Powell
Alright We will look into this, it seems to be in certain areas throughout all maps.Maybe it will help get rid of some of the fps problems people have had?Jeremy
