Merged Bodies?

Ever notice when you loot these bodies that you can only do it once, as if they're "merged"?  Is that a dedication to their death, as they huddled together they became one?

 

I have to admit, it does tug on my heartstrings because this looks like a father and daughter and I do have a daughter.

I don't think I met them... 

Poor guys. 

Some were probably very sick or tired, dying just near a shelter

I've found this pair in a couple of different locations since the introduction of Bleak Inlet, although they seem to almost always be found in the Bleak Inlet Cannery.  Yes, the scene tugs at my heartstrings every time.
