Hides Disappearing

Does anyone know if hides disappear if their condition drops to 0% because they were not cured in time? I am currently wondering why I do not have one of my bear hides at Trappers and the only thing I can think of is I accidentally put an uncured hide outside with my mountain of crap that doesn't fit in the cabin. If they do disappear, what other items do I have to worry about that do this?

Uncured hides do not disappear.

I accidentally left an uncured deer hide outside, and it was still there more than 300 days later.
