Hi! 

I'm just starting the game and came here to say hello to all wanderers!

Bought the game while ago(even before Episode 1 was out), but never had the chance to play it seriously.

Since numerous updates has been applied to the game, I think it's about time I join the party.

Please share if there's any good advice for beginner!

Best tip I can give you is not to look for tips

I really enjoyed discovering the game and the maps on my own. Then after many hours I went to the forums to see if others had the same experience, and indeed a lot of players liked that. I can definitively tell you that if I had read too much it would have spoiled most of the fun, but ok that's subjective.
If you prefer being guided (a bit), start with Wintermute (story mode). If you want to try, and die, on your own, go for Survival Mode.

Welcome. While harsh and unforgiving, the game almost never cheats you ("almost" if we count bugs). Death is almost always the player's fault, often after several bad choices in a row. Death is also inevitable and arguably the cornerstone to what makes this game fun.
