Roasting and spits

Being able to make a spit out of scrap metal and a hatchet/ hammer/hacksaw and then sticking meat on it, and having a halfed cook time. but you would have to turn the meat every 10 minutes or so. I am not saying I want a device to make cooking much easier, I just want something cool and immersive like this. I know we have cooking pots, but those are so bulky and a logical person would not carry 2 around with them.

I like the idea of a spit, even if it just adds another cooking spot on a campfire. Don't know if you could set one up on a barrel or fireplace, though. Having an extra mechanic to tend to the spit might be tedious though...
