  1. I'm sure this has been suggested a lot, but the next creature i would love to see in TLD is a wild boar. they would be territorial like moose but have a struggle option when attacked by one like wolves. the hide could be used to craft a protective vest and a new pair of boots.
  2. this would be a great quality of life fix if combined with slightly smaller hitboxes on cans and things
  3. i think it would be better if you just automatically used the least valuable ones, it would start with cardboard matches, then wood, then maybe a flare or something
  4. i think this would be possible if they only modeled the very outer layer, or perhaps the two outer layers, as well as the gloves
  5. i don't know if hinterland will ever approve legit modding, because people are just going to make cheaty mods and after a while that's just going to overwhelm the steam workshop/nexus. it's exactly what happened with the game This War of Mine.
  6. i believe the long dark's main appeal is that it's set in a frozen wasteland, the two main threats are the cold and the wildlife. being set anywhere other than canada with wolves, bears, etc and being set in a different season would ruin the main challenge
  7. i don't really see any reason to add disposable face masks. all it does is take up an extra accessory slot. and it would be just as useful as rubber gloves against the cold.
  8. gonna have to agree with Manic on this one, I think the farthest that weapon modification should go is being able to paint on rifles with spray paint
  9. am i the only one whose parents would put snacks and candy up there during a road trip or something? to me it would make perfect sense to find candy or chocolate bars up there.
  10. yeah, this makes sense, and then the moose bag would be the most powerful backpack, like how the other animal skin clothing items are the best in their category.
  11. mostly, i believe the stumble should not be removed, but i definitely agree with this statement. for example, On multiple occasions i have died as i was about to enter a building or even as i was about to lie into a bed and recover from 1-3% condition, just because my character throws himself in one direction or the other away from where i am trying to go. the stumbling is a realistic and immersive mechanic, but the distance it takes you is not.
  12. I think this is a great idea! maybe one or two located in HRV?
  13. and this timer could also be shorter in interloper, to make harder to exploit!
  14. I'm wondering what happened to that one person with Beentsy, mentioned in the camp office letter. it makes me strangely nostalgic, even though I've never done any of the things mentioned in the letter.
  15. I'm in Indiana. no wolves or bears, but I saw a fox once.

    VR

Like, @ajb1978 said, It wouldn't work on VR. there would be no way to implement bear and moose struggles effectively, and Unless there was something preventing people from jumping, nothing is stopping them from climbing things like stairs or going up elevators if they have any IRL.
  17. heheh... we never get them in bloomington. the worst we have is rabid raccoons. I've never seen one anyway, rabid or not.
  18. When I posted that, I forgot that it was @ajb1978 that posted that idea! sry, lol. P.S. it's still a good idea.
  19. Lol I was thinking because teens spend so much time indoors, they wouldn't get cabin fever as fast. but, just sitting in a cabin, I understand that. P.S Doc, how's that moosehide artillery cannon coming along?
  20. @celebith there is a snow pathway from the FM entrance to ML all the way to the homestead. there is some points that you have to russian parkour across, but they are very small.
