I've been playing 2 previous saves.  I am finding Burdock (in fact I made a separate post where I found 5 in a cluster).  I have NOT found any ptarmigans yet.  I've even been checking other locations where others have found them, but to no avail.

I've also found Burdock, but no ptarmigans. They show up on the map as 'gameplay_ptarmigannest' - so far no sign of any actual birds.

There's something really off with the fatigue.

I had 75% left on the fatigue metre and full on the stamina but when I tried to climb the rope up to park office in Milton I barely made it...

My stamina dropped very quickly and I nearly fell down the rope.. I have also noticed she's walking slower overall

I have the exact same problem on my Xbox game, almost fell to my death in HRV...the stamina bar drains like something mad when you climb.

  3. I realise this is not an issue for most oldtimers, as the feats have been gained already. However for the new players, that have started to get an idea on how to adjust the game, this would be very helpful, or for players that changed platform.

I'm not sure why this feature was removed in the first place, but the ability of tuning the game so that it fits your playstyle is one of the jewels in the TLD crown. Unfortunately, at the moment, you cannot gain feats while in Custom mode, even if that mode you choose is more difficult than many of the set difficulties.

It would be helpful for players that are starting out or intermediate, or players that have changed platform, if this restriction was lifted. For my part, I knew I couldn't wait for the DLC, so while I normally play on Xbox/PC, I bought the game afresh on steam. I mostly play "Gunloper", but I usually have a run going in all difficulties, it would have been helpful if I could gain feats while playing Gunloper. It was obviously not a gamestopper, just an inconvenience.

Still, such a change would empower the Custom mode, which for me, is one of the really nice things with TLD.

To everyone saying that us "hardcore" interloper fans can just create a Stalker game and experience the Tale all the same, or just make a custom game, I have to ask:

What if it was the other way around? What if, in the update video yesterday (and not any time before that) they announced that the Tale would only be available in Interloper, because they felt the lower difficulties didn't need extra loot and incentives. Would you be responding the same way you are now? Would you be like "Well, we'll just create a completely new run on Interloper for one time to experience the Tale! It's no big deal!"

Or would you be upset that you didn't get to experience the Tale the way you wanted to?

Or, let me guess, it's "not the same".

I am sure they could have communicated it better and earlier. I play both Interloper and custom games. To be quite honest, I think if they had added it to vanilla Interloper, that would have been derided by many as well. I think a lot would see that as watering down interloper.

In many ways, it is a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Perhaps it was a bit cavalier by me to say "just make a custom game" - but all caps is a bit triggering.

DON'T GIVE ME SOME GAME EXPERIENCE BS WHY YOU'RE LEAVING"TALES" OUT OF INTERLOPER. IT'S UP TO THE PLAYER TO DECIDE THE EXPERIENCE, THAT'S THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS GAME AND WAS RAPHAEL'S INGENIOUS REASON FOR MAKING THE LONG DARK!!! TALES IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL PLEASE PUT IT IN INTERLOPER!!!

No need for the screaming and yelling. Just make a custom game to your liking.

I thought about 6.5, but they are pretty similar, the reason I thought about .243 and .338 is because their common hunting rounds and are pretty different to .303, If we were going to get new types of ammo, we would want them to vary as much as possible. I hear you though, thanks for the feedback.

Aye, it is different from country to country. Here the 6.5x55 is the most common hunting round. It can take down any game here, though it is marginal on our moose. I mostly use it for deer, and capercaillies that sit in tree tops in the winter.

  7. I don't think Hinterland want to move in that direction, given the atmosphere around firearms in the US. An interest in calibers is probably more for the "so inclined". This is not an issue here in Scandinavia, but I think it could be elsewhere. The .303 is in addition a classic for the Commonwealth nations, as is the Lee-Enfield in all its guises.

Obviously the round of choice should be the 6.5x55, if you call it the 6.5x55 "Swede"....I'm afraid I will have to ask you to step outside!

Hello fellow friends who are freezing waiting for tftft (I’m one Xbox) question do you guys who are stockpiling have only one main base in the whole world and bring everything you find to it or have one in every region with what you’ve found in Said region

I think I prefer the latter but I do have regions I prefer and once the world is looted after day 200 mine is trappers in ML and my personal fav idk why fishing camp in CH

i look forward to your response

                                                                          Sincerely,

                                                                                             Deathridge

I tend to have regional bases. Some zones like BI and Blackrock, I just visit once, or at most twice. Then I leave just a small food and water depot at a central spot. For the other regions, I tend to have a regional base, but often leave a bit of water, fire wood and food in places where I know I will return.

I've also used Trapper's as a main base in a 400 day Voyageur run (about to end today). The first run I did. That is a good choice if the bear spawns there. For runs on higher difficulties, I've reverted to a more desentralised approach.

CH is a zone where I've never quite found a base I really like. I don't care for the wildlife walking straight past my front door so to speak, and Jackrabbit is a wee bit remote with no stove and no workbench, though the trek to the fishing camp isn't long. Qounset is just too iffy in my view, too many predators right outside.

In the late game, I like to stay in caves. The cave by Lake Monolith being a particular favourite, if only we could fish there....

On the whole, there is no right or wrong. Just play it like you prefer.

I'm in the Netherlands and very rarely does a game or update actually launch at midnight on the launch day. Usually it's 6/7/8p.m. Overwatch always updates at 8p.m. Hogwarts Legacy launched at 7p.m. TLD updates usually at 6 or 7p.m. Never have I even considered complaining that I had to wait. For me it's only logical that game devs would want a global release, and do that at a time when devs are actually in the office to monitor, which obviously is dependent on their timezone.

I guess you could argue that they launched in Euro prime time. Can't complain with that.

Am I the only one getting a SUPER LOUD sound when approaching the snow shelter on Drift Island? It's like a 300 kg backpack being dropped off a sky scraper. Jump scare type stuff. Gets me every time.

I've gotten random noises like that too, not sure if it is only there. It sounds like snow dropping from a tree, but loud. The audio seems a bit off since the dlc.

  11. That was how I read it too. I buckled and bought the game on Steam, but I've mostly played on Game Pass, and I'd prefer to return to the platform. It is handy to both be able to play on the telly and the pc. In addition, I've lost two runs in the steam cloud out of nowhere, so not sure I trust it with a 1000 day run.

In the end, I'll just buy it. For the hours and hours of entertainment I've gotten out of it, it is well worth it for me.

edit: It sounds like Survival mode will come out later, but we'll know soon enough on the 30th.

  12. We all have our favourite bases, and we play a plethora of difficulties. If you were to go for 40 day vacation in the game, where would you go?

For me, it is the Lake Monolith in HRV. The cave there is an excellent location. There are the ice caves for quick travel, a moose sometimes, climbing ropes for exercise, and undying wind for windsurfing. Perfect location.

The only thing that the location lacks, is a possibility for fishing... I would love to see fishing holes. Certainly no fishing hut, as you'd want to stay with the no man made structure theme. It is somewhat frustrating to look at the lake and not being able to fish.

If you go on an TLD holiday, where do you go?

  13. More harvesting and crafting from nature. Whether you add beavers or ducks, I'd love to have more animals, and more things to craft from the hides. Maybe seals on the ice? Though I guess seal hunting would ruffle a few feathers....

Maybe more open water and the possibility to craft a kayak or birch bark canoe?
