  1. I hope its a Bug. You know if it protects from Glimmer Fog? I have read somewhere that only the instanced Shelters do, and i hope thats wrong. I love the Mindful Cabin, its the only Shelter in the Game that comes close to trappers with its Comfyness. If it would only have a Workbench, that could be my potential TFT Base. And it will probably be anyway, since i cant imagine "living" in a Hangar :P

Edit, its true. Mindful Cabin does not protect from Glimmer fog. Actually had Glimmer Fog for the 2nd Time while cooking in Mindful Cabin, and the Insomnia meter keeps getting fuller. That makes this beautyful cabin unsuitable for a Base

  2. Blizzards seem to be a bit off here though. Came back after some more hunting, crafting 2nd Bear Coat (even found climbing Socks in HRV... on loper, wtf!) and the last 5 Days in FA was a Blizzard the entire time except for a few night hours with intense Fog. I've never seen that crazy Blizzards even in PV xD Got cabin fever risk now just because i was sitting in the Terminal for 5 Days, snacking cattail Stalks and toilet water, and did 2 hour naps and waits for that blizzard to end.. :D

  3. So... on my 96 day Interloper i wanted to visit HRV, and after exiting the Cave from Trappers to Milton, i spawned with low tier Clothes and empty Inventory on the Milton Plane Crash.

Thats a crazy bug. Fortunately nothing was lost, after exiting the Game, the last save was when i entered the Cave. And it seems a bit random, since i looted Milton before via the exact same route and nothing bad happened there.

The main reason for the long walks is to  weed out the players who don't plan adequately basically. Sub par clothing or leaving on those walks with an empty stomach will come at a cost.

Exact! Also i think people complaining about the transition zones being boring dont play on Interloper. Those long, cold tunnels with places to warm up being spread out rather far makes it an interesting trip. Warming up bonus and chain-torching is needed unless you want to lose a chunk of health before even arriving in FA.

I haven't got the dlc yet but watching it on ytube . I love the train tunnel. It looks rather creepy!🙂.  I could just imagine hearing the slow tread of paws and that long low growl reaching out in the darkness.

Hoping htl branch out into horror games as well as survival.🙂

They are indeed creepy! There is one passage a looooong and dark stair down, with some light shining out an open door. That looks so cool, like the final steps in a Horrorgame before you enter a Bossfight.

Care to spoil? I recently left CH for FA, have explored about 2/3rds of the map and want to know if I checked where you found it, because I've also found Vaughn's in WR.

But thanks for confirming, someone on reddit also confirmed that they've found 2 variants. I've found the lantern, bow and Vaughn's so far.

Barbs Rifle was leaning towards a locker in Quonsets Garage. Easy and surprising find there, was actually the first weapon i found. Unfortunately its not something i would carry around, since its even heavier (0.50 kg i think) than the normal Rifle, while Vaughn is a bit lighter and just as, if not more deadly. Tooltip states that its very reliable, so its something that could be useful for keeping at a hunting base when youre out of weapon cleaning kits. Im not sure if it degrades slower, please confirm if anyone knows for sure, but the tooltip hints it.

Me neither, I only found Vaughn's in WR. Has anyone ever found two different rifle variants in one run?

Yes. I found Voughn and Barbs Rifle on my Testsave. Didnt find Curators yet, but i didnt stay in AC for to long. Grabbed the backpack and went out again. No lantern yet, but i didnt loot many of the places people mentioned finding on here.

Barbs was in CH in a place you wont miss anyways, and Voughns Rifle was in Winding River. That could've be a easy miss.

I found Woodwright's Bow in HRV, more exactly:

      Reveal hidden contents

by a corpse on the plateu between Reclusive Falls and Valley View Point

Is that bow repairable? Because a unique weapon that degrades and cant be repaired would be something i would probably have in a locker forever 🤣

Maybe they could add resin, and make bows repairable with a sapling and resin

One of my favorite things about this update is actually the sheer amount of buildings in the new Airfield region that are still connected to outside and don't need a loading screen! Reminds me of the vibes from Mountaineer's cabin and the church in desolation point.

Some of my favorite places to hole up in TLD are ones like these. Community Hall is still my favorite but the train station hub is really neat. Kinda wish it had more storage tho.

Absolutely, i love that as well! Thats also one of the reasons i like the Watchtowers in ML/BI. If they wouldnd be in a middle of nowhere, with nothing or just timberwolfes outside, i would chose them as main base. Adds a little more comfyness, somehow. Imagine Trappers Hut with the ability to look outside :D

  9. I absolutely love it!

Already liked the transition regions, the tunnels created a almost Horror atmosphere.

The transition zones also had the perfect length, it did feel like going on a long trip before reaching the new Area, so that "far" is justified, but it doesnt feel dragged out, and it was challenging to pass because of the cold tunnels and going there completely blind on interloper, not knowing where shelter is, made it extra interesting. The first thing i had in mind when i entered FA was "oh, im already there" 🤣

Forsaken Airfield has an interesting Design, it has variety, its challenging (-62 degrees with 30 degrees windchill on interloper around day 80). And while some place have that natural HRV vibe, the hangar and its surroundings contain alot of good loot, even on interloper.

The way to it felt logical connected to the other areas, you can tell there was alot of work involved putting it all together like that.

Its not something i say often, but i really think Hinterland charges to little Money for all the Content they provide. I got over 800 Hours in TLD and paid like 30€ for normal game and that DLC together.

  10. How relaxing it is. Wandering, looting, chilling on a campfire in a Cave with blizzards outside. It gets thrilling when you struggle with wolves, get lost in a Blizzard, but even on Interloper its so relaxing to just hunt, gather and survive. Its like a perfect balance, struggling with everything on the first 30 days, once you got started its so relaxing until the occasional mistakes with too much confidence against Wolves or weather. That kind of selfmade mistakes keep the game interesting even if youre well settled.

Now matter how long and stressful a day was, playing TLD for a few hours is like therapy.

  11. Found my first Bedroll on Day 72 of Interloper, in BR Hunting lodge when i was on the way to the new areas. Took the 3 Wolfs outside maintenance shed a little too carelessly, got 2 struggles, and shortly before the new Area, i wanted to sleep but couldnd find my bearroll in radial menu. Opened inventory and seen that the wolf struggle ruined my 73% contition bearroll.

That find literally saved me going back to my bases and hunting another 2 bears

A note left behind a visor with a key led to a memento cache near the bear's cave. The cache contained the revolver, a box of revolver ammo, and a pair of worn mittens. As for the rifle, I didn't expect to find it in the usual spot (fireplace in Hunter's Lodge), but it was there. But I'm more of a revolver guy, and since I had already found a surprising amount of revolver ammo, I left the rifle and exited Broken Railroad with just the revolver and — I swear — 81 bullets. 🤠

Absolutely on point with the spread out on maps! Thats the reason why i do like the new loot system. Of course it can be frustrating to find 5 pairs of combat pants, 4 Earwraps, 2 Mackinaw but no thin wool sweaters. Also found 2 Crampons but no Flaregun and searched everything except FA (there surely has to be one, i bet! thats the most logical spot ever!), BI south, Blackrock and HRV.

But the plus side of the new system is that its much more rewarding to search the entire map. You cant just fully equip yourself by looting Milton and TWM Peak. Or at least you need proper luck for it. Now it does feel rewarding to search even the Areas previously not being the first Choice to loot first, which is a amazing thing. Another thing i really like is that fire-tools are more common. On my Interloper i now have like 300+ Matches and found 2 Firestrikers in 90% Condition. Im the type of player that enjoys playing for hundreds of days, so this will make longer runs more enjoyable.

Im just in the 2nd transition Zone so far and having a blast, the tunnels are wonderfully creepy!

I’ll just say agreed and indeed. Let’s just all put this unpleasantness behind ourselves.

Yep, lets be as pleasant as pleasant valley! Wait, no i did not mean that...

Jokes aside, this DLC has just begun and some people really need to chill. I did not encounter any game breaking Bugs or Glitches so far, everything runs smooth for me. The only thing that really annoyed me was that it was nowhere communicated that they disabled the Bunker Locations yet, i spend several ingame Days searching for the ML Bunkers on my first save. But people bitched about that enough, so...

  14. Another remarkable thing is that i have found 3 (!) climbing ropes on the TWM Peak. 1 in the Plane, 1 in the Peak-Cave, another one in the Cave in front of the rope to the peak. Crazy...

For the People struggling with Weapons: Did you check Quonset and the Winding River cave just before the Dam? On my first DLC Char i found a unique Rifle in Quonset, with the tooltip mentioning that its most reliable, and another unique rifle in the winding river cave, with a "swift and deadly" tooltip. That one is also 0.50 kg lighter compared to other rifles. Wont help with that weapon cleaning kits, but could be useful tho :)

  15. Where did you Guys find your Thin Wool Sweater on Interloper? Started a new Interloper few Days ago, and now at Day 50 i fully searched: Milton, CH, PV, ML, DP, FM just the way to the forge and TWM Peak without a proper Sweater. Found 4 Ear Wraps instead... 2 of them at the TWM Peak. Anyone seen one of those pre-placed or where did you find it`? Is there even a "guaranteed" Spawn anywhere like TWM peak and engine before the dlc? Engine containers are still unchecked here, went for the peak first, so that would be my next bet...

Edit: Bedrolls seem to be alot rarer too. In all those areas, i didnt find a Bedroll so i went for Bearroll first. Matches on the other hand aint that scarce, got ~150 so far out of these areas which is pretty nice, and i wasnt very saving with them

Edit2: No Flaregun on either Ravine Ground and TWM Peak, but i found the Crampons at the Peak! Thats interesting, might mean those crucial Items can swap Places.

Ya know, if HL really wanted to keep this game interesting/challenging, they would randomize the loot tables much more frequently. 🤪

Haha, cant deny that. Its exciting to not knowing anymore where things are. Can be frustrating but also fun. Cant wait to get my hands on a Thermos (especially on Interloper if possible), and cooking my own Soups and Stews instead of those Tomatocans :P Tbh, im so happy that they still bring new content for the in my opinion best survival game ever, that i'd even pay a 60€ AAA-Pricetag for it. Even before the DLC, i kept coming back to this game every winter. Now, its even more fun. And newer :P

  17. Crazy, just Crazy. Reading how scarce Matches got even for Interloper, while looting like 5 Firestrikers and a Box of Matches with 148 (!) Matches from a single TWM Container is just insane. Previously, PV was my fav interloper spawn. Looting farm => plane crash => CH south houses => DP and forge was a quick and comfortable way to get started. Doesnt seem that good now, with people finding not a single match there.

Ps: That TWM Peak had what every other Area previously lacked. Found 3 Snow Pants, 3 Wool Pants, 1 Exp Parka and another pair of insulated Boots there. While other usually good loot areas (and especially BR hunting lodge) felt disappointing, this made up for everything

  18. Thats astounding, Chillplayer, your run seems complete opposite to mine. Whetstones are still very common for me, im literally SWIMMING in Sewing Kits, i dont think its exaggerated to say i have 50+ of them. Hatchets are indeed rarer, yep. Storm Lanterns are very common here as well, i have 4 in Jackrabbit island, 1 with me, 2 in ML Hunting Cabin, 1-2 destroyed for Oil and some scattered in Milton. Just found 1 Bow, but rather many Arrows. Found pretty much the same Skill Books as before, but i noticed that there are alot more Blue Flares. Had even 2 right next to each other in the crystal lake fishing hut, around 10 waiting in ML Hunter lodge for that BI Trip. Maybe one or two of the next Regions involves Timberwolfs? Or maybe just moved from Timberwolf regions, so that you have to bring it?🤔

Overall, from what i have read now it seems that its very much randomized what - and how much loot you get. The good thing is that its much more exciting compared to fixed loot tables. The disadvantage is that you can find 15 Socks and no Parka or Pants... :D

But im having a blast too and im looking forward to all those great changes!

  19. Hmm, the find of the Parka on FA is interesting. Maybe the best Items are more likely in new Areas now? My Balaclava was in the Snow next to Poachers, right before the train. I NEVER expected it to find it there, most Balaclavas been in the Desolation Point Whaling-thing.  That was a sweet surprise :)

@hozz1235: try CH, i found 2 Mukluks there. Seems like my current Save has alot of luck with his foot, having 15 climbing socks and 2 mukluks...🤣 Isolated Boots been in Camp Office if i recall it right. Another pretty unexpected find there.

  20. @piddy3825

Alright, so its not just me. I was expecting to see more varied high value loot in the common Places like PV Plane Crash, Radio Tower etc. Cant complain about guns, i found 4 Revolvers and 2 Rifles so far. 1 Rifle in Quonset, pretty much right after starting. First hatchet tool a while for me as well, found it in the cave between milton and ML. Didnt bother me since i only take an axe into areas that have the shrubs blocking your path, otherwise i just take knife and hacksaw with me.

It seems like they made the high tier items less likely and tools less frequent. I didnt experience the many empty containers yet, Piddy. If i had to guess, i'd say in 75-80% of all containers is at least a chocolate bar or jerky meat.

  21. Did you check the Area behind the Curtains at the Comminity hall? Found alot of loot there well hidden and pretty sure thats new. And that sounds like the (guaranteed?) Matches in the Farmhouse cellar are gone as well. I didnt check Airfield yet, not even on a explanatory alt. I like the thrill of exploring a new map with my main Character, and i wanted to go there after getting the AC Backpack.

Another thing i realized is that tools are a little bit rarer but Knifes are still very common, and Matches are like everywhere, at least below Interloper lol. Might try it this Weekend :)

Has anyone found the new Items like Thermos Flask already? Or is it coming with the patches every few weeks?

  22. Hello all, just like probably most of you i was very excited for the new Update, and after looting several Areas i found something strange about my current save.

I looted entire CH, Milton, ML, PV, BR and FM. I found 1 Wool Pants, no Parka but 14 or 15 Climbing Socks. Best Torsos i found in all those areas are the Mackinaws. Bad luck on my part or is there something off with the high value items?

What is your experience on your new Saves so far? Everything like before? Noticed more or less of specific Items?

I play mostly on Stalker, didnt start a new Interloper after the DLC, no idea if theres any loot difference for interloper at all.

Excited to hear your thoughts :)

  23. Gameplaywise its the same as throwing a blue flare, picking it up and throw again until they run, right? Weather on Interloper will be fun, Blackrock seemed to be comparable to PV weather wise. Freakin cold and lots of Blizzards. Interloper is like 10, 15 degrees colder than Stalker, and some of the buildings are broken and only partially sheltered. Might risk that 120 day interloper, but i need something to keep me entertained. For sure a good challenge, i was on the brink of death several times on Stalker. I just hope the Wolf Packs wont be as big as they are on Stalker. Having 6 Timberwolves repeatedly jump you and getting mini lags while the game saves is just annoying
