  1. Even the Performance should be better with my idea. Instead of having 117 wooden sticks at the back of my house, i would only have one woodpile (crate). 1 Asset vs 117 Assets.
  2. What kind of load screen delay are u talking about? I play it on a PS4 Pro on a SSHD Drive and even there, i have no uncommon high loading times.
  3. I think it isn't a performance issue at all. It is a simple asset like every other container in the world and the content of the container is simple database like MongooseDB for example. The Unity engine can handle a lot more. Performance wise this game has a lot of room for additions with moderate hardware requirements. More likely that this is for game design issues. If you make a storage every 500 meters, you would run never out of supplies and get in no risky situations.
  4. It would be really cool, if you could build some simple structures. Some examples: - Wood storage. Needs 3 - 6 fir wood and creates a crate, that looks like a pile of wood. - Line for hanging fish or meat. Needs two strings and two sticks of wood. You can place it inside a house and create dried fish or meat. During the drying process the food loses 30% of his calorie / weight value but is longer storable then raw or cocked meat / fish. - Drying rag. Needs 5 - 10 fir wood and 20 Sticks. At this station you can clamp cured deer hide and by using a knife you can craft from one deer hide 2x leather. - Simple wood box. 3 - 5 cedar wood. For storing stuff. Nothing fancy. I assume the character is not a carpenter. So no real furniture. Just items that can everyone make with a little common sense.
  5. I play on a PS4 Pro also. 1080p with HDR and have absolute no issues at all. Pretty stable FPS and as I can remember I haven't noticed any FPS drops so far.
  6. Left Stick Press is used for Auto-Walk. R1 is used for Radial Menu. U can't switch it to D-Pad cause of two reasons: 1. The trigger for the Radial Menu needs to be on the right side, cause you use the Left Stick to Navigate trough the Radial menu. U can't press D-Pad and move the left stick together. 2. The D-Pad is used for quick actions. Droping a decoy or pulling out a flare (Light Source) for example. Maybe it wouldn't hurt so much, if we remove the actual left D-Pad function. Starting a fire is a forgivable if it could only be performed by the Radial Menu. This could actually work with Auto Walk and Look around with the Right Stick while pressing Left D-Pad. 👍🏻 What also would work is the Touch-Pad on the PS4 Controller. The swipe function is not used at all ATM. But this would mean, Xbox Players would not be able to have this function. So not ideal. Actually I really like your idea and if it would happen, I only see it working for all platforms with left D-Pad + Right Stick to look around. Or you switch Auto Walk to the Left D-Pad and use Press L3 + Right Stick for Freelook. This would be the most attractive way to implement this feature on consoles. You can still auto-walk and you are able to walk freely around while performing freelook.
  7. Which Button do you want to use for that? All Buttons on the controller are already in use.
  8. They are normal wolves, that are effected by the Aurora.
  9. What's are the specs of your MBP?
  10. Of course it is doable at a home workbench, if they have the proper tools for that. That is basicly the IRL idea of self loading ammo. Do this at home, don't buy factory (industry standard) crafted Ammo. On a campfire maybe the bullet casting is possible, but defiantly nothing else in the process. I would not recommend this. And as I said for the sake of balancing I don't think this is a good idea.
  11. Video: Black Powder vs Smokeless Powder: some education!
  12. The Temperatures of my MBP are pretty okay. That is not the issue.
  13. Hey Guys! 👋🏻 I normally play TLD on my PS4 Pro, but I gave it a try at my MBP and I was a little shocked! My MBP Pro is a Mid 2012 with the Quad Core i7, 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GT 650M 1GB All Settings i tested was in 1080p Resolution. Ultra = 15 - 20 FPS ; High = 20 - 25 FPS ; Medium = 25 - 30 FPS Is this normal? I know my MBP isn't the newest, but it is the fully specced out Version of his Generation and TLD seems not to Graphically heavy. The recommended settings on Steam are: i7 = ✅ ; 8GB RAM = ✅ ; Dedictaced GPU with 1GB VRAM = ✅
  14. How could this work for Consolegamers? I think all Players should have the same features.
  15. Did you looked a little closer to the guys on the ground? They look for me already pretty rotten. I assume you can't eat them anymore, even if you are extrem starving.
  16. Actually a Distress Pistole is Caliber 4 and a Shotgun is Caliber 12. Cal. 4 has a diameter of 26,73mm; Cal. 12 is 18,53mm. You can't fire a shotgun shell out of a Signalgun. The cartridge falls out of the barrel. And as you said, if it would fit, it would be a one time use with a safe injury or a chance to kill yourself.
  17. Lexilogo is right. Shooting with mittens is very difficult and close to impossible. I have IRL mittens for hunting, where you can unfold the part that covers your fingers. But this are special mittens for shooting. I could imagine that the char would take his mittens off before grabbing the rifle. But I also don't like that the char always wears the same shirt and jacket. It is of course a polishing issue, but I understand the OP that this is a little immersion breaking.
  18. Hey Lexilogo! I really like your thoughts about the Shotgun. Make a lot of sense, without make it overpowered. I like the most your thoughts about the two different ammo types for a shotgun. I would go further with the Buchskot, it could be stronger as the rifle is, but only on a very short distance 10 - 15 meters. After that, it starts to spread. I just want to clarify a point that get maybe misunderstood by you about my comment with he Blackpowder. I really like the actual mechanic! It is very simplified compared to IRL but the core hits pretty much the real world situation about blackpowder. I bring this point to the table, cause the OP has a obviously a wrong understanding how ammo works.
  19. I also would like this feature. My current char lives in the park cabins at mystery lake and shares the room with a "cool" guy. I call him Fred. Fred don't speak a lot. Fred is dead. Honestly I don't care about the dead ppl. laying in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't if im in a IRL situation like this. But I won't share a room with the corpse of someone.
  20. It's a shame that the OP doesn't like the game, but I think it has a lot to do with the spirit of the times. Nowadays it is a rare good to get involved, to enjoy the silence, to question what you have contributed (to the situation in the game). Some people just want to be entertained, to be taken by the hand in everything and to be constantly entertained, however shallow and not very profound it may be. That is the current tone of the game industry. You can't blame anyone for forgetting to just look under the surface. Unfortunately, that's the way it is today.
  21. Did you read my post about NC and Blackpowder? 🙄 I'm pretty sure your Brother did not load it with Blackpowder. I repeat it is possible to reload the ammo with BP, but will make the gun dirty and unfunctional in no time. Unless of this reloading of shotgun shells is easy. You even don't need a crimping machine for closing the case. You could do it with candlewax. If it has paper cartridges, it is not a muzzle loader. It would would be a single loader fallblock like the Sharps rifles. And this kind of rifle has no point, beside the old repeating rifle that we already have. They are to similar.
  22. This game isn't a shooter. This is what Raphael van Lierop already said about this topic. I totally agree with this point and modern guns wouldn't match the setting of the game. Moreover not a single gun you suggested uses bullets that can be properly reloaded with blackpowder. Thats are all modern firearms, what us NC-Powder instead of Blackpowder and NC-Powder you can't craft with simple tools and without a big understanding of chemistry. Theoretically you could absolutely reload 12ga Shotgun Shells with blackpowder and you could shot it from a pump action shotgun. But Blackpowder does not burn without residue. The repeating mechanism would jam within a couple of shots. What could work is a single or double barrel shotgun. They have no moving parts that can jam from blackpowder residue. Also a muzzle loader rifle would work and match the setting. It is of course single shot and not very accurate on longer distances. The reload take ages! Besides that you need to keep the gun dry, cause if it gets wet it won't fire.
  23. I have two points on this topic. 1. Realism: IRL i reload my own ammo and i need a lot of tools for that! Even if I don't cast my own bullets, it is a enormes work just to reload the rounds. You need a scale, funnel, you need a deburrer, you need a press and the list goes on.Furthermore you have to be very very precise when you are load your own ammo. Otherwise the load could blow up in your face. And this is everything by modern standards, with NC-Powder! NC is very very more forgiving then Blackpowder (what you use IG). It is simply impossible to do this at a random place, others then a suited workshop. Not imagine on a single campfire in the woods. 2. Gamedesign: If you could carry everything around, you wouldn't have a reason to explore the world. Cause of this two points, Realism and Gamedesign. I think this would be not a good idea.
  24. Hey Manic, 1. You named it, it is a Sandbox. In a Sandbox you are free to do, what you want. No one forces you to take use of the mechanic, if you don't like it. 2. This Game tells a lot of loneliness and silence. We are humans, even our characters are humans. We humans felling not comfortable to be alone. This is a evolutionary thing in us, that wants to connect with others. This is why mankind start raising Wolfpups back in the feudal age. Some of us get so much mental pain and suffer from other human beings, that despite our need to be social, we appreciate the isolation. But animals don't hurt mental, they heal what humans have broken.
