10 locations with HIDDEN LOOT in The Long Dark
Zaknafein replied to Zaknafein's topic in Survival Mode
You just go to the right. Hug the right side and you enter a slope leading back up to the plane. -
Thats awesome. Thanks, Kai!

No, but if I use it in a video or some such, it helps to have it large so that I can zoom in and draw routes. At least 2K, but bigger is even better
-
Awesome, Kai! Do you have a higher quality version?

Can you elaborate? I mostly play interloper so there is some lower difficulty items I might be unaware of. Also, love your avatar, haha! -

Oof yeah that really slowed me down, but I did finish it in the end (had to rush through it and sacrifice points). And thank you

Includes a map of all the encounters. Can be downloaded in description. https://youtu.be/5eE4cndXKOo

I have had this happen yes. There is some RNG involved and I think it also depends on distance. Most of the bear encounters are predictable, though.

Here is a walkthrough of how to complete The Hunted Part 1, if anyone needs a guide on how to do it

Interloper walkthrough - From Start to Bow in 5 hours
Zaknafein replied to Zaknafein's topic in Survival Mode
Thank you, but this video was not about doing it fast. It was a walkthrough tutorial meant to be thorough Keep up the good content, though! -
This man has seen every glitch in the game. Pretty sure the developers have hidden secret code in there to make it harder for him

Interloper walkthrough - From Start to Bow in 5 hours
Zaknafein replied to Zaknafein's topic in Survival Mode
Thank you! Haha, yes - the dog food thing was an error. After 5 hours of recording immersive narration, you get tired and I had a brain fart and totally forgot I had the knife on me. I thought perhaps they had patched it. I realize later in the video. For the same reason, I sometimes miss loot hidden here and there. Glad you enjoyed the video! -
I made this interloper walkthrough on how to spawn in HRV. I added a minimap tracking the player and also do a dry run to show where matches are.

Yes, it wasn't my first run, but you said I "have posted multiple, multiple times on completing episode 4 various ways", but one post does not mean "multiple" posts nor "various ways" That's what I contested. For the record: Prior to this video, I had completed Episode 4 once, done a quick practice run and then recorded my speedrun (so 3 total). As you say, it gives a big advantage But like I said, the video is NOT about not knowing the map, it is about not knowing item spawns - all that is up in the air, as survival and story do not have anything close to the same spawns. All that being said, I nevertheless appreciate the critical thinking on your part.

I actually tested this in my new spawn video. As far as I can tell, it all looked the same to me. Didn't matter if it was torch, flare or noisemaker. However, this may depend on how you hit with them and therefore my testing isn't conclusive. I will point out one thing, though: Noisemakers are technically best, because wolves will flee when it explodes. If you throw a torch or flare, the morale will drop but the wolf doesn't always flee. As a result, you have reduced morale but now there is a wolf between you and the flare. The video can be seen here (timestamps in description for testing):

This is the closest I would get to the feeling of trying the game for the first time. I had played Episode 4, but only gone to the major locations. I did not know where any items spawned, except for a few rumours I heard before recording. This is how you survive an interloper spawn in Blackrock, without really knowing the map.
