  1. I am not so sure that it is impossible to ensnare rabbit outside their zones. I just put one snare right on the road in front of Quonset Gas Station (Voyger difficulty). There was one cought after few days. I set t trap even inside the Quonset. Just for shit and giggles. Sadly no rabbit was inside.

The main pro ensnaring is you dont loose your energy running and throwing. My success rate hitting rabbit with stone is not great. So I set 4 traps in the place rabbits are hopping and next morning I get 3-4 rabbits to process.

I noticed something strange. When I set the trap at morning and check it the same day evening without entering any interior, there is nothing caught. Then I go inside to get a sleep. After that next morning or mid day, I go out straight to traps. According caught rabbits freeze status, it seems like they have been caught right when I stepped out the interior location.

  2. I have set the game setting (not the monitor itself) to slightly above recomended setting. This allows me to get general idea in places. Plus it gives me slight feeling of snow blindness during very bright day.

It is like in my real life. I can see in the dark more than most other people. Plus I am blinded during very bright day.

  3. I wonder if anobody else experienced strange bug. I crafted a can of gun powder. Used it to create 36 revolver cartridges. Stored it. After that I created new can of gunpowder and put it into same container. Checked the container and there are two full cans of gunpowder.

  4. Ah-ha So I am no crap shot. I experienced it as well. Shot bear near Quonset Gas. Saw the blood splash, blood trails. Next day the bear waltzed back in not hurted. Got him after 6-7 arrows later. That time I did not retreated to gas station but to car and waited outside.

  5. For the original question. You can consider it like natural movement of the tree. Maybe it just slid a little during blizzard. Of course you can contact DEVs through their support portal. I had so and sometimes there is response (if it is bug in their eyes as well).

As for realism in the game. I do not want DEVs to add more than it is already in the game. For example IRL bears are able to force open cars. So hiding in cars would not be an option. Same for hiding in fishing huts. Charging bear should be able to disassemble it in minutes. Wolfs can go trough door. If the door is closed, few minutes of biting and he is in. Heck most doors in the game would not stop bear. They seems like think planks.

  6. I think it is good the hygiene is not in the game. Same for excretion. It could be nice touch. BUT. washing your body is only half of the process. What with your clothes? These absorb your sweat, the blood either from carcasses or you after attack.

  7. Imagine to have option fill bathube with water and light fire under it. After few hours... HOT BATH.

Now more seriously. How are performing hygiene native folks from far north (Inuits and such)? Found one article about that in Peter Freumen's Book of the Eskimos:

    Quote

The women are cleaner than the men. They wash themselves a little, or rub themselves down with a little blubber oil, after each menstruation. As for the men, they might go for years without being washed. However, the hygiene is not in an altogether bad state because both men and women take most of their clothes off, getting their bodies "aerated," when they are inside the house.

  8. I had not exactly this one. But simillar one. I heard bear noises when I was carving his body. I shot him down with luck of crit. Time was nice so I started to harvest meat, skin and everything. When I was done, I was terrified by the sound of bear. I though another one came to have revenge. But no. The sound of bear walking snorting... was on place where he dropped dead.

I did not report this one. It was creepy, but it fits to the long lonelliness. One can start hearing things.

Not sure if the sound was gone after save or next day.

  9. I was tinkering with sound settings and it did not helped. When I lowerd the sound level, everything was quieter. But still odd. Mainly those effects. Like wood creaking is fine. But not when character is in middle of icy sea and it sounds like it is 10 meters away. Now I noticed it seems like there is hoofs sound without any deer. Again on Coastal Highway, on ice. Heard like deer hoofs from direction, where was no deer. The visibility was over whole area good.

    Am I the only one?

  10. I dont think so. For example my lib_burst_generated.txt contains lines like:
    "--output=D:\Projects\EP3_Win\game\Temp\StagingArea\Data\Plugins\lib_burst_generated
    --root-assembly=D:\Projects\EP3_Win\game\Temp\StagingArea\Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll"
I dont have drive D on my PC. I do have C, E, F ... My suspicion is that this one (not sure about the dll) was packed to game by mistake.

  11. I am wondering if it is me or not? It seems to me like certain sounds are more close to character than before. For example I am on Coastal Highway, half way between Quonset station and Waterfornt cottages. And I can hear creacking of the metal shed on the Quonset. I was not used to it. Or sound of deer hoofs sounds now for me closer. I can now hear deer from greater distance. The wind sound is now drowning all other sounds. More than before.

Another thing is sound of character steps. These are now louder to me and again drowning all other sounds.

Also occasional thud which sounds like bunch of snow falling from the tree. I am fine with that. But not when I am walking on the  Coastal Highway ice and in direction I heard it from is nothing but ice followed by horizon.

I can compare it with for example wolf barking before it starts to chase me. This one is same as before. Or the sound of walking bear with his crows. This one is same as well.

The PC sound setting is same as it was.

I found the box inside and outside the Quonset and  I don't think you being in the zone would affect it, I say that because I was in Hushed River when the update hit and all my stuff moved to the start of the zone.

Yes my game has also been freezing when it saves but for me it's like 5-10 seconds

I wonder what was the rule/reason to put items into red boxes. Because I do have a ton (ok not literally) meat in front of Quonset Gas station. And it was not removed during the update. So my things in the station were left on the ground (lot of hides and guts).

  13. Not sure the fact my character was located in Quonset during update had something to do with it. BTW as described in another thread. I have troubles with this run after update. Every save action freezes my game for 3-5 seconds. Maybe it should put everything in red boxes but did not and now I have these annoying freezes. It does not cause any harm, but it is annoying.

    @UTC-10

I'd love to know what you find at the Fishing Camp as that's my main base at the moment and I had 200 coal 300 ceder 250 fir 600 sticks and like 100 liters of water sitting out front plus an insane amount of meat which I'm sure has de-spawned...  I really hope all that stuff isn't at the Quonset now but wouldn't be surprised if it is.

When you mentioned that. My character was in the CH when update happened. I have not noticed red box in front of Quonset station. There is the one inside. But not outside. And my meat stored in front of Quonset was left on the ground as before update.
