  1. My first Interloper run on the second day, I was taking the double rope climb up to Skeeter's Ridge. I made it to the top of the second rope and crested the snow bank to get out of the narrow ledge area and into the open area of the ridge and what was waiting for me... a silent wolf. We met almost face to face, no time to drop the rabbit I had as a decoy it was over then and there.

  2. For the 3 times I have downed a Moose it took, 5 Rifle shots (All body shots), 3 Rifle shots (One to head, the rest to body), and 3 bow shots (All body shots). In all of these cases it wasn't all at once, I got to a safe spot where the Moose couldn't get to and fired a shot or two then wait for him to calm down and got into position again.

These kills are from before Steadfast Ranger though.

I do believe you can down a Moose in one shot, I have seen it from Streams of the people playing the game, although that is usually a result of a critical hit.

If a full-fledged mental health and wellness system was added to the game, it could be a way of reducing stress

Altho I agree it has little value I was thinking it could be a fun activity to stave off Cabin Fever, maybe staves off a little more then just being outside in general?

Taking too long to "brace" the spear, and the stupid two second time limit you have until he raises the spear and stops bracing.

@Skitfaced I found out through some trial and error that the Brace mechanic with the Spear is tied to your stamina. So if you run to the spear and then immediately raise it won't last too long. If you raise the spear right as the bear is about to charge, with a nearly full or full stamina wheel, it allows you to keep it up a fairly long time.

  5. I would figure they came from ML. You see a logging area there close the train tracks. The train tracks leads from ML all the way to the unloading area in CH. Along the tracks in the Ravine you can also see logs that have dropped off the train as well. I would assume they were being taken from ML to CH.

But another thing to point out is the the Engine Car can be found going the opposite direction in BR so that could be a point to it going to a lumber mill somewhere on the island to the west. Plus some of the Forest Walker notes talk about the operation in ML being illegal. Maybe they were trying to supplement the logs coming into CH with logs from ML?

  6. Iam not sure if this a issue but it was an issue for me I had to figure out. How long you hold the spear steady is tied to your stamina. So if you ran to the spear you might not be able to hold it steady long enough before the bear attacks. I also cheesed it by luring him to the hiding spot closest to the spear and then ducking in the hiding spot making him flee. Then walked not ran to the spear.

  7. I had the same issue with this game while playing at work on a PC on my off hours. I forget what its called, as I play on PS4 now at home, but I reduced the distance at which you see things and that helped a lot, but it made it much harder to navigate as you get that fog effect.

  8. When I first started playing the TLD. I tried this challenge several times. The one thing I had a hard time finding was always the rifle.

2 rifles: one in the corner on Jackrabbit.  one in Abandoned.

Good to know these are two spawns.

  9. Just the other day I had a trail of blood stop while tracking a bear by Trapper's Cabin. The trail ended in the valley between the small lake with the Hunter's Blind and the Bear's Cave. I searched all around that area and even by the lake but eventually turned in at Trapper's as the weather turned and it was nearing night. What is sitting right by the cabin on the hills were the rabbits spawn... the dead bear. Not anywhere close to where the trailed ended but in the general area.

Not that it matters, I've never found that flare gun. It's probably meant to be a tutorial about weight management.

I choose the flare gun and was able to retrieve it. By going to the compartment where it was stored at the crash site once you have climb out of the where you fell. The compartment is on the back, left side I believe, of the plane near the tail. It made Milton a heck of a lot easier with the flare the second time I played the story after the REDUX.

  11. The transition area between Mountain Town and Mystery Lake has a part where you overlook what seems to be the other side of the tunnel that takes you out of Milton, possibly the way Astrid went. It has what looks like truck turned over turned. Will this be a new area that can be explored in the future? Maybe the start of episode 3 where Astrid is on the other side of the tunnnel? :)
