  1. With Frontier Cooking we now have flour which can be combined with water and allowed to ferment to create sourdough starter, a stand-in for yeast (which we don't have in-game).

It would be a great addition to the game if we could combine some water and flour in a recycled can then leave it to "cure" for a while in order to make sourdough starter. With this starter we can now make proper bread which would be heartier than bannocks and maybe even sliceable to make sandwiches. I'd love a good peanut butter and peaches sandwich to help me survive the quiet apocalypse.

  2. As much as I love Frontier cooking, one thing I don't like is that I can only prep items while a fire is going. I'm someone who stocks all the good cooking ingredients by the 6-slot stoves and revels in the ability to have all items be ready within seconds of each other; it makes my little OCD brain go wild with joy.

So rather than requiring a lit fire to prep items, why not have the ability be tied to a cooking item (pot/skillet) instead? The recipes tab of the journal works like the crafting tab does and allows you to create uncooked versions of an item which can then be placed on a fire to cook at your convenience. This could also benefit those cooking large batches of items on lower-tier cooking appliances such as pot-belly stoves. While my first batch of porridge is cooking I can prep a bunch more and toss them on as soon as my first batch is done.

I'd also like to see more options for broth such as soups (stews without the flour). Or perhaps a reishi or rose hip soup that provides the medical benefits of these teas but with a greater amount of hydration and nutrition.

Oh, and why can't I reheat Frontier cooking items!? What is stopping me from putting my baked potato or pies back on the fire to make it hot! Maybe I want to reheat my porridge.

  3. This is something I'd had in the back of my mind along with additional Feats. It would be cool if for every "Fault" that you took you could choose another Feat (provided they added more Feats to take). My ideas for "Faults" would be the following:

PICKY EATER - Food takes 20% longer to cook (Obtained by burning 100 food items)

PREY SCENT - Your scent meter always has at least one bar OR the smell range of animals is increased by 20% (Obtained by having at least one bar of scent for 72 hours)

CLUMSY - Your sprain chance is increased by 20% (Obtained by receiving 250 sprains)

MIGRAINES - You have a random chance of getting a headache every few hours (Obtained by drinking 100 energy drinks)

SLOW WORKER - The time it takes to complete tasks such as crafting or breaking down wood is increased by 20% (Obtained by breaking down 300 items)

  4. With the special item added at the end of the first Tale (no spoilers in case that's a concern here), I think there's some precedent set for a quiver for arrows as well for those archery fans. The quiver would be made from leather and have a weight 0.5 Kg but halve the weight of all arrows that you carry while it is equipped.

Another idea for an item I had was a set of snow shoes. Like the Crampons they would weigh just half a kilo but would decrease your Mobility by 10% and provide no protection bonus. The effect they provide could be called something like Solid Footing, increasing your walk speed on snow to that of the normal road walking speed and offer you a 2 second bonus for walking over weak ice due to your weight being spread better.

  5. I've always thought it would be cool if you could use line and cloth to bundle up certain items to reduce their overall weight (by virtue of making them easier to pack and carry) or for raw meat to additionally reduce their overall scent. Bundling items would require a short amount of time (5 minutes) and a certain number of items to bundle up. Items that are bundled see their individual overall weights reduced by a quarter.

For example, you could bundle up 5 pieces of Fir firewood with two units of line. Unbundled his would weigh a total of 5 kilos but bundling it up would reduce the total weight down to 3.75 kilos. When harvested you would get all 5 firewood and 1 line back after another 5 minutes.

Other crafting ingredients to make bundles would include:

Bundle of cedar firewood = 5 cedar firewood +2 line

Bundle of sticks = 10 sticks +1 line

Bag of stones = 10 stones +1 line +1 cloth

Bag of charcoal = 10 charcoal +1 line +1 cloth

Bag of coal = 5 coal +1 line +1 cloth

Bundle of feathers = 15 crow feathers +1 line

Bag of X raw meat = 5 kilos of X raw meat +1 line +1 cloth (this has a scent rating equal to 1 kilo of raw meat)

Bag of guts = 5 guts +1 line +1 cloth (has no scent rating)

    Bag of rifle/revolver casings = 50 cases +1 line +1 cloth

  6. Additionally, is anyone else having water disappear from containers when changing zones (i.e. entering/leaving buildings)? I had the fridge and freezer at PV totally stocked with water and came back to find nada. When I tried refilling them and transitioned the water disappeared (I also tested a crow feather which didn't disappear).

It's possible that the water is going to the lost and found box (dear god, that's going to be a heavy load to try to carry). But for now I'm leaving my water bottles all on the floor.

EDIT: I also had a wolf put on an invisibility cloak after I killed it with an arrow (fortunately I was able to sift around where its tracks ended and get my arrow back) but I think this is a known issue.

  7. @yollarbenibekler I'm running into the same issue, calorie amounts for any cooked food item are not correct for cooking level. I first noticed this with Venison steaks, which would show the proper calorie amount (1000) once they were done cooking and still on the cooking element but once removed they reverted to level 1 cooking levels (800). I tested the prepper pie and had the same results despite the fact it's a level 5 food item. Not sure what's going on here but at least I'm finding all the recipes and visor items I'd been missing.

Damn, only now I realized that I got zero visors spawns. Did they spawn in the original regions before the 3rd update as well or only Forsaken Airfield ones? In order for me to get them would I have to start a new run again?...

As it currently stands, you do need to start a new save to get visor items.

I used a few Pilgrim runs to test and see if they were spawning and they were. I suspect that only games started within a certain span of time (right after Signal Void was introduced) have this issue. In my case I started a new Stalker run since I wasn't finding any radio repair items in my previous Stalker run.

The radio items spawned in the new Stalker but I was not getting any visor items. By the time I realized this and reported it testing revealed the visor items were spawning in new games. Sadly I was already a hundred or so days in and didn't want to start a new game. I hope that the visor items are spawned in retroactively to corrupt games as a few Caches and polaroids are totally inaccessible now.

I'm sure crampons will make all the difference 😆

Stamina for climbing seems to be directly connected to the sprint percentage left

It wasn't like that before, right? ...it's not gonna be like that from now on, it's a bug,  I hope? 😅

This makes perfect sense as to why it's doing this. Had no idea before, I wonder how this got messed up.

  10. In addition to the skillet, the new Improved Bedroll doesn't appear in my radial menu at all.

I was hunting for new items in a throwaway pilgrim game and I also noticed that my stamina seemed to drain quite quickly while scaling the climb to MT. I figured it was because I was barefoot and at about 1/4 fatigue but given that the stamina bar is always on now maybe there's an issue with stamina.

Additionally, while crouched you are literally invisible to Ptarmigans (wow, I spelled that right on the first try!). You can crouch up to them and shoot them with fire arrows and none of their buddies seem to care. I doubt this is intentional.

Finally, venison now breaks down into 1 lb (0.5 kg) units rather than 2.2 lbs (1 kg). I assume this has to do with the cooking system, though previously harvested deer is still present in the normal size.

  11. Have you ever finally found a clothing item you were searching the map for only for it to be ruined? Or maybe you re-enactments of 'Dancing with Wolves' has ruined some special clothing items you can't replace. What if there was a clothing-equivalent of the milling machine so you could, with a little help from the Aurora, repair ruined or even damaged clothing without the need for sewing kits or fishing line?

Like the milling machines, the sewing machine would only work during the Aurora and would probably be in a hard-to-reach area (perhaps the upcoming Mountain Pass?). It would work the same as the milling machine does, requiring materials in order to repair clothing and would also be capable of repairing ruined clothing.

  12. After the Signal Void Part 2 update I started a new Stalker run as there was no antenna equipment in Pleasant Valley. The right loot spawned but now in some regions such as PV, MT, BR, and Blackrock I'm not finding any memento hints or cache keys or even polaroids under the car visors. I did find one in another region, don't recall which, and polaroids and memento items are spawning in places where they aren't under car visors. I've tried checking game integrity and reinstalling the game, but I'm 160+ days into this current game and really don't want to start a new game at this point.
