I'd walk doing normal chores like gathering resources to conserve calories, and sprint if I want to get away from something that's trying to get me because at that point I'm not thinking about calorie conservation.Just my opinion. In high snow or climbing a slope you walk but on roads you jog. When you need to run from something you sprint. Its allready how it should be.
