improvised tools vs. standard tools

the title. i first discovered the improvised tools yesterday when i finally got around to using the forge (about 3 months after actually buying the game ) and i made the axe and the knife and some arrowheads.

so the tools, the first thing i noticed was the weight difference. the improvised metal tools seem to be heavier, but besides that, what are the major differences? what is the attack strength of these improvised tools as compared to the standard hatchet and hunting knife? what is the degradation rate as compared to the standard tools, aswell? do the metal tools decay faster or slower?

just trying to figure out if i should continue using them or not

dont bother with the improvised knife and hatchet unless you dont have standerd ones. save your scrap metal for arrowheads and repairing your metal equipment.

I only made it one time, when they was new in the game and I don`use it.

For me they are too heavy to carry and the improved tools are not better than the standard ones.

all i was worried about when going to DP was making as many arrow heads as could, as this seem the only place to create them v2.82. hacksaw comes in handy. wish I had one now
