ArrayKnight
Since smashing is essentially equivalent to using a can opener, shouldn't the smashed open can's contents be eaten immediately after opening?
Bill Tarling
Personally I wouldn't think they necessarily needed to be eaten immediately -- just means that the contents are accessible now (and decaying faster probably) -- I could be wrong though... I smashed a few cans first to get an idea how much was lost to determine what else I would need to eat or save.
alex_leach
Totally makes sense to me, also you should not get as many calories as the smashing process would undoubtedly lead to losing some of the contents. I dont see any way you could carry around a smashed can and keep the contents intact. Even if you used the can opener and didn't eat it right away you would have to carry it in hand like a cup filled to the brim, who the heck would do that? Guest Alan Lawrance
Smash was separated from Eat for clarity, but I a clean solution is to do exactly what you suggest -- eat automatically after smashing.
