SonoftheThrone
Please kindly add the SHOVEL tool already present on PCs to consoles so that snow shelters can be dug to aid in survival during a blizzard/fog/inhospitable weather. It's already on the PC; please add it to the consoles as well! Thanks!SonoftheThrone
houservt
I think you may be confusing The Long Dark Xbox with some different game on PC? There's no shovel I know of in the PC version.

There's no shovel I know of in the PC version.I was watching YouTube. A player was playing the PC version of this game. It showed a "shovel" icon in his menu labeled "snow shelter". fredqwerty
Can you provide a link to the video on YouTube, or give us the title of the video? I have watched lots of let's plays on YouTube and have never seed a shovel or a map in the game.
houservt
Ahhh. I know where the confusion lies. Check the date on those videos. The Map/Snow Shelter were part placeholders in alpha/beta. I do not believe they're currently implemented. There's definitely been interest expressed, but I believe that the amount of development necessary to implement mobile shelters wasn't enough to justify the time, given that there are already so many accessible shelters/caves in game. TWM
The change in weather patterns and visibility at night also makes snow shelters unnecessary for most maps. Mystery Lake has lots of spots where one can take shelter in case of a snow storm, as do Coastal Highway and Desolation point. The only map where snow shelters would be actually handy is in the deep reaches of Pleasant Valley. There are some stretches where you might easily look over a cave and end up wandering quite a bit before you find shelter.

danicusrex
of course old old in internet time, means one year ago.Given how many updates TLD has had in that time? Yeah, it's a super out-of-date video.
