Canoeing in the glacier rivers in story and sandbox...

What about building a conoe from birchbark or seda. Use it to travel quicker and fish. Doesn't have to be a simulator but it could add a capsize in the white water if you dont mash the key like in a wolf brawl. What do you think?

Cheers bethany..I was thinking mabey in a new map but even in the coldest of Canada they still have rivers running from the melting snow of the glacier. You could have on sunny days rivers due to ice metling and on cold days only streams or mabey even no rivers.

A more likely situation is where rivers drain from larger lakes. Frequently these rivers do no freeze up until a distance downstream due to the warm(er) water held within the lake.

That said, I'm not that keen on including canoeing or kayaking.. It just doesnt seem to fit the winter survival theme for me.

Especially since

1) the birch trees are not nearly large enough to provide enough bark to make a canoe

2) it takes days, probably a week, to make a canoe, and that is with two guys who know very well what they are doing.

I hope the future holds liquid water, every time I pass a waterfall I wonder what happens to the water after it falls.

how about a pair of ice skates? would make traveling across the lake faster lol.

or even better a dog sled being pulled along by fluffy!

okay guys just saying making a wooden canoe could take a week to make...and you could implement that however.....in a survival situation you do sometimes have to make canoes.
